No Raytracing for 4070 RTX Laptop?
I cannot find any Path Tracing options, too little VRAM on the Laptop version of 4070 (8GB)?

8gb is way too little vram.
the rtx cards on laptops are weaker than desktop rtx cards, you need atleast 12gb vram to run the game

My dude I have a 4090 and it's barely handling that ♥♥♥♥ with dlss and framegen on, the laptop isn't gonna do it.

8gb ain't nearly enough for path tracing, it's not even enough for low rt

Yeah, thats what I thought. Too bad, I dont mind a "cinematic" low framerate, but not enough VRAM is a dead end.

Way too little VRAM.
You need to go for low-med settings in order to run the game, not to mention PT.
Are you guys for real? My GPU utilizes only at 85% runs at 70c CPUs at 74c~. @ 1080p 60+FPS.
DLLS 0.4 DLLS ray tracing supper sampling on. All all raytracing and path tracing on. Most settings at high. GPU is 4070 8gb at 105w , CPU is 13th gen can't member the model , but goes up to 4.6 boost. Game runs amazing at these settings. Don't need 100fps

Cool story bro, except path tracing is not available in the graphics setting when u got only 8gb vram.

Laptop GPU chips have been the same that Desktop counterparts for a while now.

I can confirm 4070 RTX laptop only has 8GB RAM, so, not the same as the desktop version of 4070

Path Tracing on a 8GB Vram GPU..
cool story bro. Minimum is a RTX 4070 12GB.

I think it's clear that NVIDIA has went with the 50 series while to them the 40 series is just old tech like the 10 series. Thank God I waited and purchased the 5080 instead of being con into buying the 40 series that comes with a free game.

Cool story bro.
But how does this help with OPs issue?

And BTW: Game works great with 40x0 cards, as long as you've got enough VRAM

I use Path tracing with a Desktop 4070 just need to lower texture pool size to high the game sometimes bugs out and stop rendering frame gen and i need to restart once in awhile but thats it but i think 12gb is the lowest you can run path tracing on because you need DLSS for performance which also eats a fair share of Vram

The game is fine on my RTX2070 8GB (70+fps @ 1080p) and it's fine on any card capable of actual ray tracing so long as you're prepared to compromise on settings/fps.

As for the OP's question they've already had the answer which is their card isn't capable of running it so the game won't give the option, I know this because I played through on a 2070 originally and now have a 4080, the option is there for my current card, isn't for my old one.
