Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

The game that was done dirty.
From what many have said, the game is genuinely good, which is unfortunate cause its clearly doing poorly based on numbers, and we have several reasons for it.

The movies: the 4th and 5th movies damaged the reputation of the franchise, specially the last one which nobody liked, and that was nearly a decade after the 4th movie, which did not help.

Disney's reputation: After how awful they have handled the Star Wars and even the Indiana Jones IP, people didnt had much hope for this game (plus all the awful live action remakes nobody wanted)

The guy with the stupid haircut: Arguably the primary reason people disregarded the game and called it woke, rightfully so, when you have this guy with a really dumb haircut rambling about the "modern audience" its gonna be a massive turn off and a red flag for people, they are FED UP with the myth of the modern audience, and several games tied to those magic words were failures, specially the last movie.

Low Marketing: The second main reason, im actually struggling to even remember any other trailer besides the one from the event, and the one with that stupid haircut, i feel Disney just didnt care about promoting the game, which hurt its potential even further, when the main trailer most people knew about was about how the game was for the "modern audience", the game stood no chance.

Its kinda sad really, this is a game that deserved better but was sabotaged by past history and poor marketing, i myself lost all interest the moment i saw that guy with the awful haircut (have i made it clear enough i hate his hair?) and he mentioned the modern audience, now seeing how REAL players are giving it good reviews and recommending it, i feel like trying it myself, i loved the first 3 movies and even the LEGO games back in the day, so knowing a new good Indiana Jones game exist is great, but again, the game was sadly done dirty and will likely underperform.

To the gamers who like me, lost all interest cause of that one moron with the hair, give this a try, like i said, REAL gamers are positive on this game, and no im no talking about the losers Mainstream Journos, nobody care about their opinion.

I liked the last movie as many others. You can blindly follow other people's opinion or make up your own.
One: I already said my intention of getting the game down the line.

Two: Not everyone will drop a chunk of money on a game blindly, many like to wait to see what other gamers said before risking if the game is worth it, I’m currently holding of on this game since it appears to have optimization issues.

Those who ignore good advice are doomed to repeat the same mistakes others make.

Sure, if good advice came from "influencers". But it does not. I'm sure you have Tik Tok and I'm sure you spend hours every day online getting your brain all worked up in a million different directions that have nothing to do with you, but hear me out: I just literally saw it was available on steam, caught a few screencaps, read the specs and bought it. No mistakes here, just enjoyment. Love the game. It's just great. Do I need hours of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ talking about it online to enjoy it? Nope. Take care. Happy Christmas!

That doesn’t excuse race swapping the character in Arkham when he was always white there.

And considering how much SBI was bragging about working in the game and such, it’s clear what the intention was.

Yes, it is clear. The intention was to invoke the look of the hugely successful actor from the movie. If David Ayer had cast Matt Damon as Deadshot they would have made him white. They cast Will Smith, so they made him black. The only person being weird about race is you.

I would stick to complaining about Wonder Woman. Obviously, if anyone was going to be prepared for Brainiac and avoiding mind control, it should have been Batman.
They were all idiots…

Specially Superman, yeah let’s trust the alien with a literal skull for a spaceship, the fact that the others ended up giving up and going along with it makes it even stupider.

Also no, yeah Will’s portrayal likely partially the cause, but it’s still a baffling decision cause THAT Deadshot was already white, so changing his race and then bringing multiverse nonsense to justify it is stupid as hell.

It even causes several plot issues like how nobody notices that the Black Deadshot got replaced yet they instantly took notice the other way around, this is even worse for both Batman and Waller since they do background checks, we even see this on Origins when Batman instantly called out inconsistencies with Copperhead

So the idea of Deadshot getting replaced doesn’t make sense at all with established canon, and what we got from it was just terrible, being a Black Deadshot who’s entire character was his skin color.

What’s more hilarious is that this was so easy to not screw up, one, they simply could’ve just not do it, and second if they wanted a black gunner, then it already existed and in fact was one of the MCs of the second movie, Bloodsport.

So they shot themselves in the foot for some DEI points, they had two options, both giving them what they wanted, and they picked the wrong one.

Cause gaming journos are better aren’t they?

All of them trying to get people into playing Concord and then blaming us for the failure.

Pretty sure they also named Veilgard their GOTY.

Sorry but I’ll rather trust people that actually play and care about games.

Good advice can come from anywhere, even a comic book. This is why most folks are against censorship of any kind.

I'm glad you lucked out and liked the game without checking any reviews first, because that's not the norm. This is why forums and videos and reviews are so helpful before spending a bunch of money, most gamers don't get that lucky.

For the record, I agree with you it’s a bad game. I blame the business management aspect of the development. Taking a studio known for making single player games and having them trying to make a live service game so you can sell skins.

DEI is the same as anything else in the corporate world. Investors chasing trends, trying to make safe bets that they see everyone else making. The environment has changed, you’ll likely see less of it. But you’ll still see bad to mediocre games because they’ll just chase a new trend.

Most media isn’t good, and that’s really not the fault of people interested in inclusion. They can write crappy stories just like everyone else, and usually do.

What’s sadder is that it’s more than possible to make good games/stories with inclusivity.

One of my personal favorites being Night in the Woods.

A game that delves into psychological problems and illness, two of the main characters being a gay couple, and even the MC being pansexual.

What that game did right, was not pushing the, or any agenda for that matter. It was simply different characters with different lifestyles. That two was gay and some was pan didn't matter at all. It just life man :taloslol:.

Ok, well, I stand by my original statement of perhaps the lesson here for gamers is to ignore all that crap.

pretty much yes.
to an extend, i have to add.
for many games you better just wait a day or two before buying after release and watch some lets plays on youtube before buying the game...
that's the only true metric on how to know a game is good or not...
when it is not the sugar coated truth that gamers out there tell you, that don't have been 'bought' and therefor nothing to lose for telling the truth
