Sukhothai Hotel fight

Are we supposed to be taking random damage from the side wall when we're getting shot at? It seems excessive since all of the enemies are in the front of the hotel, but I'm taking unavoidable damage from the side as well.

I am experiencing the same thing myself. I am enjoying this game, but some parts like this one are really janky

This may be the game trying to "tell" you that you can't just duck behind the counter or a wall, and that you must do something, I think you're supposed to go somewhere and escape to progress.
