Ledge hanging transition from dropping is so jank

Is anyone else finding the way you back up to a ledge and drop completely jarring?

That first person to over the shoulder transition on ledges needs some kind of improvement. Every single time it looks like he doesn't grab it

Yeah it's really bad. Most of the time i just accept the fall damage and jump. It's just not worth the hassle. Should've just been a button prompt.
