was getting 80-90fps on update 1 (w pt/max settings, fg on, dlss quality, no hdr)
update 2 happened and down to around 50fps same settings, have to uncheck fg, pause, recheck fg, pause, and then about 50% of the time it gets around the same fps as no fg... or turns into a 10fps slideshow... crashes when switching to taa sometimes too. i just gave up and am playing it at 50-55fps, it looks stellar but its frustrating that it runs like poo
weird thing is on pause it seems like the background fps speeds up on menu transition for 1-2 seconds and then goes back down.
I still get 90+ fps in the crowded main square at the Vatican with FullRT path tracing, DLSS Quality and frame generation on a RTX 4070 Ti Super. Inside it's also still above 150 fps most of the time.
The patch notes mentioned that there's still an issue with HDR and frame gen. After enabling HDR you should turn DLSS off and back on once as a workaround.
Very bad optimized have low fps and huge shuttering even on 4070 Super.
My FG wasnt working, so I disabled it. Disabled HDR. Re-enabled FG. Then re-enabled HDR.
This seemed to work for me, but im not sure if it will continue to work after restarting the game.
Best thing is, just wait for some time, a 2/3 month after good patche..
RTX 3090 with RT on low is sooo bad.
Uncheck FG, restart game, Check FG, restart game. Now it should work fine unless you do ANYTHING with HDR settings..
You can also do the "Change DLSS to TA and back to DLSS" too.
Turns out, for my PC if was the low latency mode in my Nvidia Control Panel settings. I'd set it to Ultra long ago, and this game absolutely does NOT tolerate it when cranking up the settings. I was getting weird, roughly 3 seconds of very low FPS, then back over 100, then back to 10 or so for 3 seconds, repeat ad nauseum - turned off the low latency mode and POOF. A much smoother 90 to 100 FPS with max settings at 4K.
"Nvidia Low Latency Ultra Mode locks FPS to 30 FPS • Link
If Low Latency Mode is set to Ultra in the Nvidia drivers' Control Panel, the game will run at 30 FPS max.
Reverting this parameter to "default" or "OFF" will fix the problem."
