Constant Fire Sound Effect
I'm close to beating the game and decided to go back to the previous locations to collect all notes and after re-visiting Shanghai I am stuck with the constant sound of burning fire. It is always there, even during cut scenes, and stays after revisiting other locations. I've tried verifying game files, deleting and reinstalling all game files and the noise persists. I haven't found a fix for the issue yet, I've only seen that turning down ambient noise volume works but messes with all other sound effects. Posting this right after update 2 hoping that would fix the bug but it still exists without a solution.

While watching MkIceAndFire's playthrough I noticed that he had the creaking boards sound effect stuck, from when Indiana and Gina fall through the floor.

It went away on its own, though. After the cutscene ended.

Good thing it's only a 50-hour game. If it remains forever, you can simply play it again, Sam.

From the top.

I had the same problem. I also tried a lot of things. Then I saw that a few older saves can be selected under saves. Go to the save slots in the menu and select a “previous savegame” (the “R” button is at the bottom left). It helped me because the savegame was saved shortly before...hope it helps you.

I guess, it came from the place where you find the key in Shanghai. It is better not to travel back at this point. Dive through again and run to another location where the game is saved to be on the safe side, then travel back.

Thank you for finding out where the actual root of the sound effect comes from. Sadly the sound effect started happening a little after I finished that side quest and now I'm scared to reload an old save since I would lose a lot of progress. I've just been avoiding doing any of the main story quests till it's fixed since it really ruins the cut scenes for me.

I have an audio bug where Indy repeats the phrase from when he opens a certain safe filled with gold bars every time I reload or travel. I've heard "I'm not letting Voss use these!" about fifteen or twenty times.

Strangely, it did not replay when I loaded/revisited the last level to clean up after the ending...although all the giants were rendered without heads. Even stranger is they all have soft body physics on the clothing around the gaping neckholes and their limbs lost all rigidity, so I could almost literally "ragdoll" the bodies.

So I just loaded one of three “previous checkpoints” in the main menu, one was half an hour older than the current one and that was no problem to replay the short playtime.

I noticed it too (I've heard "I'm not letting Voss use these") , but I didn't think it was too bad.

Yes, that's the audio that loops, except mine is constant with or without the map being opened first. I tried your solution on PC but it did not work for me sadly, opening and closing the map does increase it's volume so it for sure has something to do with it.

I found the solution! If the problem appeared after the sequence in Shanghai, open the game file > base > sound > soundbanks > pc > delete the two sound files associated with Shanghai.
Hi Dec 31, 2024 @ 5:04am
As soon as I traveled back to Marshall College, the constant fire sound stopped. I ran around for like 3 minutes trying to trigger checkpoint just to be sure, but it didn't save. I then travelled back to Vatican and the fire sound was still gone. Then I traveled back to Sukothai and there was no fire sound anymore! Anyone who has the same issue please try this and let me know if this worked for you.

I feel like this is such an obvious solution now but this worked! So far it's the only thing that has actually stopped the fire noise completely. I had to delete all audio files related to Shanghai rather then just the ambient noises but I have that area 100% finished already so not worried about having to go back. Thank you for the solution!
