It went away on its own, though. After the cutscene ended.
Good thing it's only a 50-hour game. If it remains forever, you can simply play it again, Sam.
From the top.
Strangely, it did not replay when I loaded/revisited the last level to clean up after the ending...although all the giants were rendered without heads. Even stranger is they all have soft body physics on the clothing around the gaping neckholes and their limbs lost all rigidity, so I could almost literally "ragdoll" the bodies.
So I just loaded one of three “previous checkpoints” in the main menu, one was half an hour older than the current one and that was no problem to replay the short playtime.
I noticed it too (I've heard "I'm not letting Voss use these") , but I didn't think it was too bad.

I fixed it on Xbox by returning to Shanghai (see description), hope it helps!
I feel like this is such an obvious solution now but this worked! So far it's the only thing that has actually stopped the fire noise completely. I had to delete all audio files related to Shanghai rather then just the ambient noises but I have that area 100% finished already so not worried about having to go back. Thank you for the solution!
