Hаve you tried to run the game into Safe Mode?

However, via compatibility mode I was able to enter the main menu at least. I set everything to low.
Once I click on "continue" just a black screen follows.
Is there a known workaround? It used to run well on "low" stetings before this 25 MB update got installed by Steam.

The developers were probably inspired by what he did, but forgot that the global illumination fix doesn't work in the most complex levels with the latest Nvidia driver.
I'm at the lowest resolution and everything is OFF and LOW. I can't go any lower than this and yet,
