I have the same issue after the second update. Failed to allocated each time. I tried safe mode, lowest settings possible and still the same. It was working fine before the update for many hours on the higher settings.

The game for me is broken, previous update was running 90 fps ,now i can't even enter it

Same issue. Black screen and Windows says "Failed to allocate video memory. Total allocated: 6034.880 MiB"

However, via compatibility mode I was able to enter the main menu at least. I set everything to low.

Once I click on "continue" just a black screen follows.

Is there a known workaround? It used to run well on "low" stetings before this 25 MB update got installed by Steam.

If you install the Nvidia driver 566.14, this should solve the problem.

The developers probably forgot to test their update on the latest drivers (566.36)

The developers were probably inspired by what he did, but forgot that the global illumination fix doesn't work in the most complex levels with the latest Nvidia driver.

Set all the parameters that affect VRAM to their lowest (when you are in Video options the game will tell you which these are). Then lower the resolution, the game will run on 6GB cards. OK you won't have ray tracing, it won't look as fine, but it is still pretty good.

I'm at the lowest resolution and everything is OFF and LOW. I can't go any lower than this and yet,

I tried the 566.14 driver and the game don't want to start complaining about the driver not recent enough !?
