Microstutter - Unplayable
I have tried most of the fixes posted on this forum with no luck.

Frame rate goes from 70fps to 23-25 then back up constantly, so aggravating.

Specs:
7950x3D
4090
64GB DDR5
Windows 11
566.36 Driver Version (tried reverting to 566.16 as well, no dice)

Any help would be much appreciated.

Disable all Path Tracing (it's busto right now, wait for them to patch/fix it) and set Texture Pool to Ultra High. Make sure Vsync is off in game but on in NCP. Also make sure Low Latency mode is turned off in NCP as well. I did this, and my game is butter smooth.

The game suffers from stuttering/hitching (high frame-time spikes) when it autosaves (checkpoints) and occurs too frequently during traversal. Only the devs can fix this with a game patch.

Use latencymon to see whats spiking cpu usage wise when the fps drop occur, it keeps easy to read logs and will make pinpointing the issue easy.

I was having frametime issues until I turned off Icue. I don't know if you have it installed, but just my 2 cents

Yeah this game is optimized and performs poorly. The first level was okay, but I didn't realize how bad it would get until I loaded into Egypt. Holy hell. It's unplayable and I have a 4090 too.

Digital Foundry made a video showing how the settings can be optimised for various hardware setups:

Other than this, if you have performance issues and if Low Latency Mode is set to Ultra in the Nvidia settings, try out with setting this to Off.

I had similar behavior until I downgraded to 566.14 with DDU cleanup and updated dlls and dllsg in the game to the latest versions. Then it was gone.
I play at 4K HDR (Fullscreen, in game VSync OFF, Nvidia VSync ON, FPS limit 117 via RTSS, Low Latency OFF). Full RT, DLSS Quality and FrameGen. 4090+5700x3D, Win11 23H2.
Note, that FrameGen did not work after enabling until I restarted the game. Also it stops working if you change resolution for some reason (game restart is needed).
Egypt was not very demanding, was very smooth for me, probably ~100 FPS.

Thank you so much, this contained the fix which was turning off latency mode in NCP. I am now maintaining 60-80fps other than cutscenes which sometimes hits at low of 45fps. I have everything max with DLSS Quality.

Thank you for everyone who replied with a potential solution.
