Your windows account prolly is bugged, or maybe that's a normal behaviour and my windows is bugged.
For me this never happened with this game, also I have the latest version of xbox app on win 10 pro.
Maybe it's a win11 feature that you're experiencing.
You can try out making a guest windows account or whatever other account and see if it does the same thing on a new account.
You can also try it out in geforce now, if it does it the same thing there, prolly not, as that is a very heavily controlled enviorment.
I always do that, if I suspect if my windows account is borked in some way.
My windows account is local only, it doesn't login to an online account.
Microsoft store though is logged in.
And in the game I've logged in to with the xbox/microsoft account.
But I've never gotten microsoft store window pop up with any game.
Did you like play before a gamepass version of the game?
Found this too, maybe you can find someone there with a fix.

Most likely reason is you removed or disabled some windows services that handle xbox services on your windows account. So you get a pop up, instead of the game doing a handshake in the background, as you have to option to login with your xbox/microsoft account inside the game.
Try logging in the game with your microsoft account, if that gives you an error, you prolly borked your windows. Regardless if it's genuine, you genuinely borked it.
Your windows is broken, thus make another windows account to test if it's that easy to fix it. If another windows account doesn't also work in the intended way, then you either ignore and live with your pop up, or fix the windows installation (use the restart option or whatever). Anyway before you update or use the "restart" (reinstalls windows) feature to fix your windows, make sure to rename/backup your steam folder, so that if steam gets uninstalled, then everything in the steam folder gets deleted (your save files that some devs put into the steam folder (konami, capcom etc.), all your local screenshots, and if you have your steam library inside the steam folder that also gets deleted.
Hello, thank you for the time you took to write all this, i wanted to reply in case someone will need this discussion in the future, for me it is not a pop up like the guy in the link you provided. For me the app stores opens up, but you are right if i try to connect the xbox account from the Account tab in the game, it opens the shop as well, but i get a failed message in the game, and i know why now.
I setup my steam, and games to open with admin rights a long time ago (because of a bug with the antivirus for COD games). So now when the game opens the Microsoft store it is without the admin rights, so the "communication" between them is blocked i guess. I saw the same behavior with other programs when one is opened with admin and one is without so i am assuming this is the case now.
