I have no intention of making my profile public, and questions like this are largely why.
Even so, I'll indulge you with a screenshot, which I assume will suffice.

I can only assume that you responded to this almost month-old comment because you doubt what I said, but I assure you, it's true. I'm really not sure why any of this is relevant, however, especially since no one was talking to you.
I just think you express consistently casual opinions and are probably a casual player. I don't think you have delved the depths of gaming as you say. I want to see your games list. I don't care how long you have played video games, I care how deeply you have played them, if you want to make that claim
You are free to rescind the claim. My profile is not private because nobody can dispute anything I say to begin with. Games can't be used against me.
I rescind nothing, and frankly your opinion on what games I've played over the years means precisely **** all to me. It's literally less important than dog sh!t that I might accidentally step in, because at least I can't ignore the sh!t.
But again, I'll indulge you. My first console was an Atari 2600, and I've owned every console that's been released since then. I've been building gaming PCs since before most people around here were probably born. Yes, I've played and enjoyed everything that you with your ridiculous insistence on labeling everything would consider "hardcore" AND "casual." I don't give a toss. If a game is fun, I'll play it. THAT'S what a "true gamer" (that ridiculous term you guys keep throwing around) does. I've forgotten more about what constitutes gaming than some tryhard who throws around terms like "hardcore" and "casual" and "true gamers" will ever know.
That's the full extent to which I'm willing to justify my experience. You can either accept it or not. If you do, great, we can move on. If not, that's fine too - it literally means less than nothing to me what you think, and the end result is the same: we can move on. Completely up to you.
I don't accept it; I think it's bad form to say you've plumbed the depths of gaming but you have anxiety about showing your games list. When you make claims and people ask you to justify them, it's not really logical behavior to grandstand about how much you don't care-- this justifies the other person's suspicions as valid.
Then you can sleep well tonight believing that your suspicions are valid. I'll sleep equally well knowing that your validation means less than nothing to me. It's a win/win.
What's wrong with playing games casually anyway? Personally, I find casual gaming far more enjoyable than competitive gaming. I love diving into the story and solving the light puzzles in this game, and I don't mind at all that it leans toward the easier side. And when I'm in the mood for something competitive that truly tests my intelligence, I simply close Steam and go play shogi (Japanese chess).
Gentlemen, this is the level of discourse that "true gamers" bring to the table.
Thats great that you have your own personal idea of what video games SHOULD be. That in no way is a reflection on what they actually are. Video games are toys. They are glorified childrens toys. They are meant to be enjoyed, you know, fun. A "challenge" is not a defining characteristic of a video game. Want to know why? Because tons of games exist that have zero challenge whatsoever.
So i'm guessing that you're either in your late teens or an adult so it should be slightly embarassing that someone has to tell you that if you don't like this toy then you put it down and move on to one you do like. If you don't like a game, great, doesn't make it terrible or bad. It means you don't like it or you just don't get it. Seems like you don't get it.
If a game is in general highly praised and liked then its a decent game at worst. If you don't like it, fine, stop wasting any mental energy on it.
A video game is everything that is interactive. Even a walking simulator can be considered as being a game, because the player determines the path and makes his own experiences when exploring the world.
And I am not sure if others have noticed this, but this game actually has some challenges that can be considered as being quite hard compared to many other games, at least in my opinion. Namely, in the missions where Indy has to go through some dungeons I was many times scared of getting soft locked, because I ran out of health supplies. Example given, in the one with the scorpions or in the pyramid with the big snake. Now, normally in many games with a map one can just teleport out of a danger zone using a fast travel point. Or at least regains the full health bar after death. But in this game the former is not possible, to my knowledge. And when Indy dies, he respawns at some location in the dungeon usually, but with the same amount of health as he had when he died (so just one single bar in the worst case). So I actually was always a bit scared when going through a dungeon where the backtracking was blocked due to some reason (like when one had to jump down somewhere with no way to climb up again). And these were some of the best moments in the game for me.
It's very relevant to get as much information on you before we psychoanalyze you to determine if your opinion on gaming culture is valid or not! I've been gaming since the 80's also as you can tell by my avatar of the "avatar" and I appreciate people talking about this topic. I don't care if people play easy or difficult games because people have different skills and IQ levels. The annoying thing for me is the politricks and culture was stuff which has seeped into games but I can ignore those games base on a little research done at the rpgcodex website. Take care ♥♥♥♥ sapiens and keep pumping that blood in your body if you can!
You'll die pretty quick if you use a gun since the... enemies (worried about some dumb auto moderation) pretty much don't use them unless you do. and you can't carry that much ammo for the revolver or reload guns you pick up.
But it's also quite easy to just run and hide somewhere till the NPC's leave their alert, and searching status. Then again that's true for a lot of games where the focus isn't so much on mowing down enemies but stealth.
It's a great game btw, despite some flaws (ideal does not exist). Spent 60 hours already. Searched every corner.
