Tell me, how long does it take to complete the game?

The site "Howlongtobeat" says that on average it takes 14 hours.
Is this true? It turns out somehow expensive, if it goes by so quickly, plus a lot of videos...

Just piping in here, I ended up in this thread because I was looking for how long it is. And just want to say you should not take howlongtobeat as gospel. (so it's good the OP came here to ask) I come to threads like this rather than relying solely on Howlongtobeat because I have always found I take longer than what they say. I suspect the same is true for a lot of people, as many comments in this thread have shown. The thing about that site is, it tends to self select for players who care more about efficiency than most people will. If you care enough about playtimes to become a member of that site and submit your times, I mean, that's a sign you're really concerned with playtime in general, and if you are concerned about playtime, well, you are probably interested in not wasting your time while playing, even if you are trying to do the sidequests and whatnot. (you can be an efficiency focused completionist) But most people do waste time on things that don't technically progress anything at all, but are just amusing, and that adds value to the game too, imo. Tho some games are better suited to that than others. I mean howlongtobeat has a page for THE SIMS. A game with NO ENDSTATE. It's pure sandbox. There is no 'beating' it. But they tried to pin a time on it anyway. And their figures are based on a pretty small sample, too. go to the page for Great Circle, and you can see their statistics are based off of the playtimes of 350 people total. The game gets between around 4,000 and 8,000 simultaneous players at any given time, it likely has around 100k players overall, just on Steam, not counting consoles or gamepass or whatever. so 350 is a tiny fraction of the playerbase, less than 1%. Don't get me wrong, I think it's good info to have, to help see if a game is worth it or not, or see if you can squeeze it into a weekend or if you should wait for a larger block of free time, whatever. Just saying that howlongtobeat tends to underestimate with all games.

The on many web sites mentioned 15 hours.. That's bs. If you want to collect all uogrades and solve all riddles easy 25+ hours.

right, all upgrades and collectibles is a completionist run

did you even read the stats on the page? it's 15 hours for main story, 38 hours for completionist
