the info is available, and not even hidden but right there on the storepage.
to review it negatively because you yourself could not be bothered to read is simply dishonest. you made the mistake, this is on you, not them.
but if you do plan on negatively reviewing the game, be sure to mention you didn't read the specs so everyone can see the full picture.
So no Indiana Jones and The Great Circle for you then. And now that one game's made raytracing mandatory expect others to follow. You might not like it, but more and more games are going to start requiring raytracing now that the line's been crossed. You have an 8 year old graphics card. That's positively ancient in computing terms. You might think it shouldn't need upgrading, but the industry disagrees with you.
That's the way it's always been with PC games. Those not willing to upgrade get left behind. No amount of complaining about it on Steam will change that.
Having the min requirements, you would not even be able to run RTX. I don't care if it has RTX in the title of the gfx card series. Even the 300's struggled with it. Only one that can manage it is 4070 and above. So, the devs are also stupid for posting that. You are a bit condescending.
The minimum requirements are fine. And it’s a safe assumption that the devs are not stupid.
I’m running the game on an RTX 2060 Super, which is the min requirement, and can confirm it runs absolutely beautifully in 1080p with low graphics preset. No problems at all.
I feel sorry for you if you're poor, but it's not my fault, and I don't see why it should stop me from enjoying the game with my hardware that's capable of playing it.
That's capitalism for you. The world doesn't owe you a living, or a good computer.
The game uses a basic global illumination system that uses hardware ray-tracing to sample a limited number of points across the screen. That runs fine even on XBox and on pretty much any card that supports it like almost all nVidia RTX cards, AMD 6000+ or Intel Arc.
In addition to that, the game offers per pixel path-tracing. THAT does indeed only work on very fast cards like nVidia RTX 4070 or better but it's completely optional and can be configured to lighten the load a bit.
Btw., "RTX" is an nVidia brand name. Short for ray-tracing is just RT. ;)
It's funny how many of the tourists whining on the forums don't get this basic difference. 😅
The game works on Deck and it has no hardware raytracing. The Steam Deck leverages an open source Vulkan pipeline to render RT via software. The game runs on Vulkan, really there is no excuse.
The dev's intentionally implemented a HW requirement for RT as this is an Nvidia sponsored title.
Are you sure it runs on deck? Did you try it on deck? Or just read it? I’m not convinced. Sorry dude
Yeah they def just read about it on Twatter or Reddit or so. No way someone posting that way went through the tinkering to get it work (and it runs pretty meh at that, but then what can you expect of the Deck hardware which isn't exactly new any more, it runs better than I expected it to tbh).

Zero RT hardware on the Steam Deck, game runs fine.
The devs went out of their way to create this issue, Doom Eternal did not have this problem. Hopefully the Nvidia sponsor was worth it cause they are absolutely loosing sales over this issue.
