The Great Circle is a WIN for Players

Games needed to stop prioritizing milking as much hours as they can from players just like how social media needed to stop engaging users by strong negative emotions. Most importantly, they don't care about doing us a service and they want us to fail other parts of our lives and just be batteries for them.

Do we really just want esport-ready video games that are designed to be suck thousands of hours from us just so we'd buy battle passes/skins? (they usually have really good numbers)

Comparing to a lot of late releases, this game felt like a breath of air - just a good ol' upfront sale for a well crafted story experience. Like a book - you read it, put it in your shelf, carry on your life remembering its influence and revisit it from time to time.


So I really don't get why people are upset with this game without giving it a try - this game is what you'd been asking for after all these years of criticizing "modern gaming". I mean, what games do you enjoy then? Can you recommend some games that bring you joy?

- I have a background of playing RTS games like Company of Heroes 2, FPS games like Rising Storm, Ready or Not and CoD, and I enjoy playing League of Legends with friends. The Great Circle because is a lighthearted, story-driven historical fantasy game and hit the right spots in me.

Reading through those anti-woke posts in the last few months, it almost felt like our dissatisfaction against corporate greed was diverted into identity politics and a culture war.

Imo we should support this game and let it be the example for other AAA studios on what to deliver and whom to deliver to.

Well, while they debate over and over I cant stop playin this GOTY for 2024 for me. That Dishonored feel all over again... 10/10

some moron posted a video with a thumbnail and title of the last reveal of the game like the day of early access. would have loved to see it on my own. all I did was search the title of the game too. still a great story
