How to check picked up notes?

I'm probably missing something obvious but can't find any way to look at notes I picked up before?

eg. there's a safe in a tent near the start, guides online say that the combination is on a note in a drawer nearby, I already went through all the drawers there earlier and picked everything up though, but can't see any way to look at what I picked up...

I think for some missions that have notes attached I could go through journal to look at those, but these non-mission notes don't seem to have any way to check them?

On Travels page in journal I can press right to see the number of notes but there's nothing to press to look at them...

Its a bit complicated first time. I am using Mouse and Keyboard
Press J to open map then e to open journal.
Left side of book click field notes with mouse then d
Right side of book for example click ticket stub then space to inspect. You then get the wasd option to rotate
That's the best I can explain.

Ahh so it had its own field notes section, completely missed that, thanks for the response!
