Horrible FPS with good specs
Hey guys, I just upgraded my Hardware and was excited to finally play AAA games like the new Indiana Jones game. I'm fiddeling around with the settings, but no matter what, I can't exceed 60fps. On Low, medium, hight etc. with or without RT, with or without DLSS. I read alot about framedrops or other inconviniences, but i am not even hitting 60 fps. i also set the texture pool size to low and running at 11gb of vram currently, but still no change.

Some insides with afterburner:
- CPU 50deg 20% usage
- GPU 45deg 90-98% usage at 110-140w (the card can go upto 285) with 10,5-11gb vram

Screenshot here:

specs:
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3d
Nvidia 4070 ti super
32gb ddr5

Any ideas on how to fix?

edit: other games fully utilize the gpu (reaching the expected wattage and desired fps)

Wait you play DLAA 2560x1440 with RT ON and complain about FPS? Set to balanced for real.... who plays DLAA with RT on.

I do, well, DLAA and Path Tracing.

You chose a bad location to test Path Tracing.
Better see it in Gizeh or some indoor locations or caves, with lights and shadows.
Also I think it looked terrific in the two last levels.
And yes, the only way 4k+MAX RT+DLSS Quality+FrameGen.
PS Disable this awful Motion Blur.

That's not good specs for this game. Wait for 5090 TI Super.

I'll give it another try whenever I get that far. But I do hate FrameGen so I don't really have much faith. Also, I agree about the motion blur. Just hadn't gotten around to it yet.

Yeah, I usually avoid FrameGen.
I used gamepad in this game, so was not affected by the latency I guess. Didn't notice that anyway.

I am not sure if it may help or apply to your particular issue, but if you are using the latest GeForce Game-Ready 566.36 driver there is the following open issue:

[G-SYNC] Indiana Jones and the Great Circle may display micro-stutters when Vertical Sync is disabled [5015165]

After trying again now, the game runs butterly smooth. In the meantime i reinstalled graphics drivers :D So maybe it was that.. I didn‘t change anyting in the settings.

i Use 566.14 with low latency turned off in NVCP.
566.36 (+hotfix) got some problems for a few ppls. (low FPS, Stutter issues from FG .....)
+There are some problems with HDR and DLSS

i Can play (4090) with DLSS qual.+ FG Supreme settings + PT Max with 80-120 FPS.
Some Maps drop down to 75. (short)
4096x2160 + GSync on + HDR without stutter issues.
With DLAA its waaay less. not worth

VRAM use: 80%... so it takes 19-20GB VRAM for Indiana Jones in 4k Supreme
Even for 1440P i read about 15-16GB VRAM (Max settings)

if you pay the devs of Ashes of Creation $100 - $250 for the "privilege" of playing the (now on its 8th year ) alpha version of the game.
