Horrible FPS with good specs
Hey guys, I just upgraded my Hardware and was excited to finally play AAA games like the new Indiana Jones game. I'm fiddeling around with the settings, but no matter what, I can't exceed 60fps. On Low, medium, hight etc. with or without RT, with or without DLSS. I read alot about framedrops or other inconviniences, but i am not even hitting 60 fps. i also set the texture pool size to low and running at 11gb of vram currently, but still no change.

Some insides with afterburner:
- CPU 50deg 20% usage
- GPU 45deg 90-98% usage at 110-140w (the card can go upto 285) with 10,5-11gb vram

specs:
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3d
Nvidia 4070 ti super
32gb ddr5

Any ideas on how to fix?

edit: other games fully utilize the gpu (reaching the expected wattage and desired fps)

Julz Dec 13, 2024 @ 5:38pm

but it is weird, that this is the only game, i only get half the wattage, capping at 140w

46 FPS seems OK for the case with RT ON + DLAA.
Try DLSS Quality with that. Or just disable RT.

I probably tested every combination by now. even everything off and lowest setting. Suprisingly I hit more fps with high settings then low.

Did you find a solution? I have exactly the same problem with exactly the same specs

PT is on?
kreesh_tan Dec 22, 2024 @ 9:51am
PT on or off doesn't matter, it's always around 30-50fps for me. problem is that the gpu only uses around 130w.
i somehow got it to work yesterday and it ran at 80fps 1440p, everything max, full rt, dlss quality, framegen off. i just have no idea how i got it to work yesterday and i can't replicate it

For some reason FG starts working only when you enable it and restart the game. Else it just shows that it's enabled but has no effect. (Probably opposite effect - you disabled it, but it was really disabled after game restart.)

I don't know how to help you, we have a similar configuration (but I have the Ti not Ti Super) and the game is always at 100+ fps (without PT) the only thing is that the CPU usage is very high and the game suffers of image synchrony, but it's not the fault of vsync or the refresh rate. The cutscenes also have some problems... In short, they still have to work on them

I have exactly the same problem with a similar configuration ( 4090 Mobile with 14GB and an i9 13th Gen 64GB Ram) Frame Generation does not work at all and CPU shows full block red in the stats.

Do you play custom non-standard resolution?
