Frozen screen, but can hear sound and run around(anyone else have this issue?)
Ok when I first ever booted the game, I changed my resolution and the screen froze. I thought it was locking up. Turns out the game is still running, but my screen is frozen. Through memorizing the menus, I was able to eventually change my resolution with a frozen screen, and was able to save and exit the game through memorization of menus. Ok Resolution set. On reset, settings are good and played the first level.

Second level I am at school nice, I get a pop up in windows that force minimizes my game. I tab back in, well would you look at that the screen is frozen and I can hear myself running around with a frozen screen(sound effects still play when my screen is frozen).

Its the weirdest thing I have ever seen in a game. Seems like this aint very universal.

Specs: RTX 4090, 32GB RAM, RYZEN 7950X3D.

I found out I have a program that was interfering with my game. It is sorta like a vpn/ monitoring program.

Begs to question how a vpn like program can do this to a video game? What is going on in the back end of this game.

I7 12700, RTX3080TI 32 Gb, Win 11
I have been playing the game for a long time without any problems, but now, with the n3 update, after many graphics changes to find the best settings, the main menu freezes and I only hear sound.
To play I have to start in safe mode and change the settings afterwards, but every time I restart the game the menu freezes.
Same here. Is there any solution?

If I disable RTX everything is fine and I can even play with all the settings at maximum.
(I have a 4070 with I9-11700K)
Game terribly optimized for RTX.....
This occurs to me if I Alt + Tab out of the game, to often have to check e-mails, and when I come back screen appears frozen but I can still hear the sound and it sounds like I am moving around.

Try launching in safe mode. Can be done e.g. from Steam, right-click on the game in your libraries, "Properties..." I think, allows you to choose to start in safe mode.
I had this happen in two circumstances:

1) Messing with the graphics options, especially increasing texture pool size above "Medium" with full path tracing (only have 12 GB VRAM).
2) After playing for a few hours close to the VRAM limit, so likely a similar situation.

A couple of times I saw a DirectX crash dialog I could Alt+Tab to, and the other times I inspected the Windows Events and saw a graphics driver crash, so seems related.
