The problem with RTX 3060 and some other -8Gb VRAM GPUs
This post is a reference to this one:

(TLDR: Hello devs, can you please tell us if the RT issue with RTX 3060 mobile is getting fixed in the near future? :) Thanks)

Indiana Jones & the Great Circle game has a problem with lighting effects related to Raytracing on RTX 3060 GPUs (mobile version) and other older and newer GPUs. The bug results in very dark areas where textures and lighting effects make graphics indistinguishable and characters and surfaces appear with a metallic shine.

- WE KNOW WE DO NOT MEET THE OFFICIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE GAME, WHICH ASKS FOR A MINIMUM OF 8Gb VRAM, PLEASE, DO NOT POINT THAT ANYMORE. THANKS :)

- Since the RTX 3060 is capable of Raytracing, what we are trying to find out with this post is if any DEV could tell us if this issue is going to be pointed and solved in the future by opening the game to computers with less than 8Gb of VRAM or if that's never going to happen and therefore the owners of these GPUs should avoid the purchase or ask for a refund.

- In the past, another Bethesda game, DOOM Eternal, developed by ID with the same ID Tech engine, had a similar problem with the RTX 3060 mobile (laptop) GPUs and this problem was fixed with a patch.

- I understand that excluding the most popular graphic card according to all the censuses, and making the game exclusive to the most current and expensive GPUs and therefore inaccessible to most peopleis a strange way to go. And usually when you play a game without meeting the minimum requirements you can do it with low fps (although enough) or in low settings or resolutions. But in this case the “either you have this rig or you can't play” decision is so exclusionary that it's kind of rare for such a professional development team.

-Many of us pre-ordered the game as soon as pre-orders opened, but we didn't expect the requirements (which were released very close to release) to be so prohibitive. In fact, the game on the RTX 3060 runs perfectly except for that "error" in the lighting. And many of us have been able to play the entire introduction and first part of the game until the Vatican, where this "bug" makes it unplayable. Being a few hours of play, Steam already makes a refund more difficult. So we're kind of stuck.

-This feeling of frustration and disappointment could only be saved if a dev would shed light on the shadows (almost literally xD) and clarify if this is something to be fixed, If they are aware of it, or if as many believe (not me, personally) it will never be solved and the game will remain with this excluding requirements.

-This is a general problem, you can find many posts here on Steam, reddit and YT without a problem if you Google it.

-Sorry I'm not good at summarizing.

Thanks for reading.

I honestly hope they see this and at least answer if they are going to fix it because at this point i feel is better if i just request a refund. The graphical glitch really takes me out of the experience.

I know different engine, different game, but I remember there was an issue similar to this one with Resident Evil 2 Remake. Game was working smoothly but problem was with shadows and lighting. As far as I remember, installing older drivers was helpful. And I’m not talking about last drivers, it was specific nvidia driver far older than last two releases.

I tried running the game on older drivers, but the game requires newer ones.
An interesting remark: with the old driver (for example 546.29), the video memory increases to 6010 MB instead of 5996 MB on the latest drivers.
But the game does not run on the old drivers.

I even overclocked GPU yesterday but it didn’t work so I don’t recommend that.

There are thousands of gaming PCs with the mobile RTX 3060 that cost even more than 1500 euros when they came out. Computers that run Red Dead Redemption II exceptionally well at 1440p, not to mention GTA 5 or God of War, Uncharted 4-5. Clarify the fix or give us our money back. If I were Nvidia I wouldn't let this issue go, I personally think I won't buy another card from you if the issue isn't clarified or given the attention it deserves.

The developers are 100% aware of the problem from day one. But 0 information to this day and contact with buyers.
And then good games fail in sales. I wonder why? I don't wish this on Indiana, people have been waiting and wanting this game for too long. But what choice do we have other than refund?
Come out and say - we are aware, we are solving the problem. Or don't wait, you have weak specs.

The minimum system requirement might say 8GB, but this game in fact only requires 6GB for the forced ray tracing to work.
The issue with the 3060 mobile (and perhaps other mobile GPUs) is that they have/report slightly less than 6GB to the game.

I managed to fix this bug by spoofing my VRAM to 6GB (as opposed to it reporting 5996MB to the game). If someone wants to help me test the stability of this modification, send me a DM on steam.

Hey, how did you manage to do that? Can you let us know in here? I’ll try it and report back if this solves the issue.

Yes, I tried this mod but It doesn't fix our problem with 3060. :(

Thank you guys for making another post on this. We need to keep making noise so that they listen to us. They can very easily fix this problem.

I hope we'll get to play soon

But what's the point? When the developers can fix it in a couple of minutes and release a hotfix, they have been ignoring us for a week.
I clearly imagine that they do not care about these problems
