Recomended Graphics Settings for the Sukhothai Area
So I've been playing this for a couple weeks now, and I'm noticing a quirk with my current graphic settings in the Sukhothai (I.e jungle area) of the game. Things in the far distance seem to occasionally act up (particularly the vegetation), where as I can even sometimes seem things rendering in. With this in mind, I was wondering if anyone else was having this issue/what would be the recommended settings for my hardware. My hardware specs are posted below.

Some things to note:
-With my current settings, I haven't had any issues elsewhere in the game.
-DLSS doesn't work well with my monitor's refresh rate, as the frame rate exceeds the refresh rate causing tearing.
-I do typically have vsync on/cap the refresh rate to avoid screen tearing.

Graphics: 4070 rtx 12gb
CPU: i7 14700 with base speed of 2.10 ghz
Memory: 32gb
Storage (Game's location): NVMe BG6 KIOXA 1024gb
Monitor/Screen: Only supports 60hz refresh rate

My game also has occasionally frozen. Seems to only occur after I play the game for too long and I've only have had it happen twice. Both on the Vatican map, albeit at different areas within the map, and different points in the story.
You should consider getting a proper monitor as you're still on a 60hz screen. You are missing out on a) a sense of more fluid /smooth gaming with a higher refresh rate and b) a much better answer to screen tearing ( VRR). Your 4070ti is half asleep.

Also, you seem to not understand screen tearing, implying that it only happens when you exceed your refresh rate. It will happen at ANY frame rate, if Vsync or VRR is not engaged.

I have considered getting a new monitor, however this is the only game that has had the problems I am having. (I'll eventually get one, but I don't think it's the direct source of the problems. The game runs overall fine aside from the aforementioned graphical issue with far distance objects in the jungle areas of the game. The monitor I have is also fairly nice, but I am aware that I should replace it.)

As for the screen tearing, I will say I am not an expert. However for this game it seems to occur whenever frame rate is above 60, so I had assumed it was having to deal with refresh rate.

Regardless, I am wondering if there's a particular graphics settings in game that directly effects the why I can sometimes see things in the far distance rendering in, or if there's particular settings that I should adjust in-game.

I have tweaked all kind of settings, I am getting the same object, shadow and texture pop ins in the Sukhothai area.. Especially when roaming with the boat... I have seen this in plenty of videos online too, I think with this being the last area of the game it may be the least optimised one... From what I can tell no setting seems to affect the pop ins... Hopefully the next patch addresses it

There are various things that make screen tearing less, or more noticeable, but regardless of your refresh rate, or frame rate, if they are not in sync, you get tearing. That's what variable refresh rate and vertical sync do; sync your refresh rate and frame rate. It is a long standing myth that screen tearing only occurs past your refresh rate.
Think about it. If that's all it was, then all you'd have to do is cap your frame rate and vertical sync /VRR wouldn't need to exist.

Also Vertical Sync feels like ass, causes input lag and stutter.

you can do r_lodscale 5 (1 is default) in console but it messes up other things. hopefully they update it
Kinda late but, In case you haven't found a fix yet, I'd recommend watching Digital Foundry's optimized settings video for this game and check which texture cache option is recommended for your VRAM's capacity, and from there change the other graphics settings according to the memory you might need to free up. Ever since I did so I manage to maintain consitent 60 fps in Sukhothai's open area with an rtx 3060 + dlss 4 on auto and the game looks gorgeus. Hope it helps you and anyone else who came here due to the same issue.
