Because I don't like or use Game Pass.

I don't want to pay a monthly fee for a ton of games that I'm not at all interested in and will most likely never play. I just buy a few select games that I really want and can play them as often and for as long as I want, without any additional cost...

I also like to use mods for some games and so far Game Pass versions seem not to be compatible with most mods developed for the Steam or GOG versions of a game.

Just seems strange to pay £60 - £90 (?!) for the game when you can get it on Game Pass and access to tonnes of other games etc. as and when you want

Any game that gets released on Game pass day one is another way of saying its a bad game.

Game pass is a good service but I hate having another subscription and the games there often are patched later or never receive the latest updates at all.

Why would you care about tons of other games when you want to play this game? People have limited time to play. Instant access to a lot of mid games isn't a good value proposition.

You do not "buy" any game on Game Pass, you don't own its games. It's basically a rental service you're paying a subscription fee for.

If I like this game, then I will pay the full price or discounted price on Steam later on.
