I think OP is right. Lack of marketing, coming out with POE2, high system requirements, concerns about the game being made for a "modern audience" -- all these things add up to lost sales. How much of a loss is hard to say.

And people saying the game has good reviews from game journalists as if that means anything these days - anyone remember Concord and Veilguard? Glazed by game journalists, rejected by players.

This might still be a great game. We won't know until player reviews and word of mouth. But I get the feeling this is one of those games that, even if it is a great game, still won't do well.

The fact that they made race tracing cards a requirement means a lot of people are automatically locked out from buying it even if they wanted to.

all the reviews ive seen are great so far. if it sells poorly its because of dwindling interest in the IP which is a shame. all the manufactured hate around this being "woke" wasnt true and the game turned out to be awesome. im going to enjoy the hell out of it and everyone who wanted it to be bad will find whatever reason they need after moving the goal post. notice how it went from "game will suck" then the reviews were great to "game wont sell well"

Wait for post-early access review. Remember what happened with Starfield? Simps mass upvoted the game into Very Positive and it took a couple of weeks for it to settle to its real aggregate of Mixed.

Reviews do not mean anything. Have you seen Overwatch 2? Most negatively reviewed game on Steam and they still rake in millions from people who don't care.
