Mandatory Ray-Tracing?
I'm not a fan of this. I'm sure the game is going to be fine, but I hate the idea that the game requires ray-tracing. I've never heard of a game having mandatory Ray-Tracing before. Hopefully they'll eventually patch it and include some baked lighting, that way people without an RTX Capable GPU can play it. I have a GPU capable of Ray-Tracing, I just don't like the idea of using it due to performance hits.

Star wars outlaws, and considering when it's removed, everything basically disappears, means the devs are lazy with this game as well, not actually putting in the effort for natural effects

Bethesda fell hard from optimization gods

What natural effects? Rasterization is not natural, it's all fake lighting. Raytracing and psth tracing are natural, more real.

Quoting myself from another thread but regarding performance:

I'm watching Digital Foundry's video about the Xbox Series X/S version at the moment and if the PC version is the same it looks like the game only uses ray traced global illumination. It doesn't even use ray traced reflections. It's "a locked 60 frames per second" during gameplay on console hardware too (even on Xbox Series S) so it's not very demanding at all it seems, despite the use of ray tracing. Perhaps the PC version has some other RT effects available to it too though?

It's not really as bad as I thought. Once path Tracing is released, oh boy. I'm glad we can toggle that on and off though
Dont worry they have successfully gimped every card that isnt a 4070ti or higher with this game, but it prolly will just stick to this game for awhile.

Anyone with a 3060ti or higher can enjoy pathtracing in the other games just fine, especially if they know what they are doing ;-)

My RTX 3060 Ti can't manage a locked 30fps with path tracing and very aggressive upscaling enabled in Cyberpunk 2077. I can get a nearly locked 60fps in Portal RTX but only with the path tracing settings at the lowest and again, using very aggressive upscaling. Did you mean "ray" tracing?

There's videos showing Indiana Jones running fine on low end hardware so, as long as a graphics card meets the RT hardware requirement and the appropriate settings are being used it should be fine.

Nukem9 DLSS3 mod. Enjoy brother. 1080p DLSSq. *Turn HDR saturation to zero! (small bug, still looks perfectly fine)

PS: This is the first game THAT doesn't work in, even Puredark stuff it works. It doesn't work in Portal either because of streamline, but those are the only exceptions.

Well, I suppose mods are an option. I think Cyberpunk 2077 has FSR3 FG built in now but I'm not sure if that works with Nvidia Reflex (where as modded-in FSR3 FG would?) which is a must-have at low framerates.

You are a smart person, and listen to the right people. No joke.

Always use the mod (or at least try) over native FSR3 because of the reflex bs. Another scam they are just running with, unfettered.

What the ♥♥♥♥ are you talking about? Go read the damn system requirements before spouting some stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

This is how all games are gonna run 5 years down the line. Rasterization days are slowly going to be over. Hardware RT is the future. I don't why people have problem with this.
probably because a lot of people cant or dont want to spend over $2000 on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ graphics card just to be able to play modern games. many of us like nice graphics but not at the expense of not being able to run it without upgrading your pc every second ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ year. if its fancy lighting vs smooth performance and good gameplay ill leave the stupid fancy lighting behind any day. this should remain an option until pcs capable of it have been out for at least 10 years or more. rtx cards were barely better than gtx 10 series except the dumbass ray tracing gimmick and now we are already seeing developers preventing people from using anything older. my gtx1070 does just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fine with stalker 2 and it does lumen ray tracing that doesnt need hardware to run.
Nvidia probably sponsored this game demanding that it be made this way so that they can sell more of their overpriced RTX graphics cards.
Maybe this game's sales will suffer enough for Bethesda to patch the game like Alan Wake 2 post-launch.

It's mostly for the lighting which is all based on Global Illumination.
They either have to build the game for dated systems or they just commit to make it fully lit by ray traced GI and you get a much better looking game.

Why should a developer create far more work for themselves to cater to really old hardware. To not meet the min spec you have to have a PC that is from 2018 / 2019

Like seriously

Do you really think the publisher thinks people who have hardware that old are going to buy a AAA game?

I remember when PC gamers used to complain about consoles holding PC graphics back but never did i imagine we would end up with PC gamers doing the same...

Your PC is worse than a console. That is literally what this means.

So just play on a console if you want to play the latest games but don't want to upgrade.
