not actually, it's even better that they stick to what they're good at. Machine games was mostly doing 1st person games I believe, at least Wolfenstein were 1st person and good.
May be publisher could choose different studio, but I like 1st person as much as 3rd person, so at least for me it's not really matter

No, it wasn't Machine Games that was behind Escape from Butcher Bay, it was developed by Starbreeze Studios which is entirely another studio.
While there’s a connection between the two studios via shared developers, the statement "MachineGames made Chronicles of Riddick" is factually incorrect. It’s better to say that developers who would later found MachineGames contributed to Riddick while at Starbreeze Studios.
