The last Indiana Jones game was 10+ years ago and I'm 99% sure they meant "we need to present this new generation of kids a series that was criminally neglected for the longest time".
Also, Indiana Jones has a long tradition of strong female characters, minorities, multi-culturalism, anti-Nazism/Fascism, etc. So it's by nature, pretty "woke".
That said, I think it's worth reflecting whether a couple of rage-baiting YouTubers have trained you to be triggered by certain words.
You are part of the modern audiences, are you not?
I don't think you were the guy who came up with this idea that games made for modern audiences have concerning qualities - you were influenced to think so - and the phrase "modern audiences" have a new meaning to you.
I'm merely encouraging you to recollect when and where was a neutral term associated with a mood.
While outsider creatives tend to knock most works out of the park for some reason the Anti-Woke love latching onto missteps and failures as some justification that they are being "Attacked" or that they are having their hobby ruined when in reality they can just jump to something else... But no instead these people keep arguing, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and moaning instead of actually creating something. They only seek to destroy or harass instead of just making their own games.
What people like Weird Potato or other DEI Detected members forget is something that one of my favorite video games said and it's this:
- Life isn't just about passing on your genes. We can leave behind much more than just DNA. Through speech, music, literature and movies... what we've seen, heard, felt... anger, joy and sorrow... these are the things I will pass on. That's what I live for. We need to pass the torch, and let our children read our messy and sad history by its light. We have all the magic of the digital age to do that with. The human race will probably come to an end some time, and new species may rule over this planet. Earth may not be forever, but we still have the responsibility to leave what traces of life we can. Building the future and keeping the past alive are one and the same thing.
or in short:
- These anti-woke people are brainwashed rage baiting cultists that need to really consider what they are saying and what they are leaving behind.
Couldn't have explained "Pavlovian Conditioning" better myself.
Mid 2010s was a crazy time if we look back on it - most people were social media illiterate back then (probably still are now), and a fraction of the media like "Critical Drinker" took advantage of it and stirred up as much hatred/outrage as they could.
Now, we have a group of people who are so addicted to outrage, they can't settle down and enjoy anything outside their comfort zone. While those channels screw with actual artists and profit.
What the hell does that game have to do with this one? It's also much older aside from being completely irrelevant. It is apples and oranges and this game is not even out yet!!
