WOKE: "new Indiana Jones story for a modern gaming audience"
A guy(?) looking Woke, speaking Woke using Woke words. Oh, and Senior Narrative Designer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yp7_ImMV1Iw&t=314s
This concerns me far more than the first-person gameplay (though Machinegames is one of the very best into first-person perspective). And considering Machinegames loves to force unskippable "narative moments" in its games (Wolfenstein: Youngblood is THE exception since it is too light in Narrative, a blessing in disguise. And there was still Woke), is part of Xbox Game Studios, which is a client of Sweet Baby Inc., be assured there will be LOTS of Woke in "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle" (stupid subtitle). I am not looking forward to see Indiana Jones be "descontructed" by this "independent strong woman called Gina, apologizing all the time for being a male.
Moments like this made me dread whenever any company mentions the word "modern". Just imagine the Damage Ubisoft will do to Splinter Cell remake to appeal to the "modern audience" (off-topic)...

Pretty sure this game is getting 0 Preorders.

Knowing the modern "woke" definitions yeah it makes money from investors for appealing to the most people, pandering as they say, but you can't get out of that in the corporate world.

There are quite a few things in this trailer one can see as concerning to such notions, but none of us have played the game yet, seen the story yet, or know how things are worked in. If you want to be rational about it, chill, wait for gameplay, wait for reviews, patience is a virtue and in these kinds of things there is no reason to stress over a game like this.

Indiana Jones is something I grew up with myself, and I despise selling ideologies or "woke notions", but we don't have enough to go on and the most any of us can do is sit back, relax. and if they mess it up and pull a bunch of ideologue nonsense, well you can vote with your wallet, that is my plan. Chill, relax, wait and see.

Hope for the best, plan for the worst, etc

Well, I'm definitely not pre-ordering this game anyway and most likely not paying full price for it. This said, if it comes out through PC Gamepass on launch I'll sign it to play it, as long as it is well polished.

Lmao I'm not buying it. Thanks modern entertainment for making it so easy to go outside and be productive.

I played Wolfenstein new order, it was a great game but hates the dialogs, then the new colossus, hate it... They developed a lot on character like a movie or even more to the point I stopped playing, if I want to watch sex then I won't play a game, if I want to watch a movie I will do that instead, I hate this tendency of making every game a Interactive movie experience and interrupting the game play with no sense.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

This would have been a definite pre-order IF Bethesda wasn't the one making it - my sympathies to Machine Games to try and make something good of this after Disney took a hot dump all over it and Bethesda hustled everyone with their "passion project 25 years in the making" XD

Bethesda and Machine Games are scum. Bethesda cancelled Prey 2 to screw over Human Head Studios for not making the changes they wanted. Then they encouraged Machine Games to change Wolfenstein into Wokenstein. So they are backstabbers who care more about woke propaganda than being true to the source material. I want this game to be good but this feels like that most recent pathetic Indy movie all over again. Like Marvel and Star Wars, Indy is being flushed down the great circle of a woke toilet!

Again, you just know that they will and probably already have a plan to reset the franchise

Im surprised people need to see some stereorypical person saying the words outright on the screen to understand what the product is gonna be like. At least people are waking up to this,, but its a little too late, its all ruined now. lol

Ah yes, Sarah Fisher as a Splinter Cell, aff. Although they backpedaled this on following novel "Splinter Cell: Dragonfire".
Back on topic, I'm too sure Indiana Jones will be "mansplained" several times throughout the campaign.

Not really, they only brought him back to get readers, this is gonna stick. That whole franchise is already ruined, everything ubi is dead intellectually.

Im sure its gonna be way worse in this game. Dont even care anymore to discuss, im out.

The rainbow guy sends a bad message. I mean wear a shirt of your studio or game if you present your new product instead of playing politics. Even if they try to make a good game this makes we wait for a sale or if it is not really outstanding, skip it and play something fun instead.

You mean... like a shirt of their publisher, Bethesda Softworks? The shirt that Edward was wearing in the Developer Direct? It's also not a political thing to support the rights of other human beings, at least not in my eyes. It is such a nonissue that it is honestly comical how butthurt people are over Edward existing . Dude clearly has a passion for the Indiana Jones game the team is making and considering that Mitra Ashkan Far, the Cinematic Producer on the project, stated that everyone had stories about Indiana Jones and that many of them had grown up with the character in some way, I have no doubt that Edward, just like the other presenters and devs on the game, is looking to make The Great Circle a greatly enjoyable experience.

It is remarkable how people are already wholeheartedly convinced this game will be terrible solely because of a 13 minute presentation with a single person that they immediately judge and hate for no reason other than the fact that they look "woke" as if that means a damn thing (and not that they use the term 100% correctly too pffff). In the end, it's kinda sad that people are willing to judge a game that they know almost nothing about because they saw something that got their panties in a twist which must, obviously , mean that the game is gonna be terrible and that everyone involved is working with the devil to cause the downfall of their "favorite" characters.
