Exactly, the trailer even shows this.
Agree.
It´s an adventure game, not a fps
You're not wrong. In a dev diary, they made the same joke.
For anyone who cares to see if it's possible to make a good first person cinematic action title with an emphasis on melee and straight-up brawling, see: Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher's Bay.
That game made you feel like you inhabit the character, while showing off the action (or boring bits) in third person, only when necessary. (First person immersion, but nobody wants to stare at the rungs of a ladder while they climb, for example.)
I prefer first person in most games, but it gets tricky with stealth, which they've said this game will have a fair amount of options for. Hiding in first person relies on gimmicks or UI clutter while not giving enough peripheral sense. Hoping that the view changes to third person for these elements.
It is pure developers choice if they decide to make it 1st or 3rd person, and every player must be okay with it, or not play it, because there is zero right to tell developers how their game should look like :)
That question: "Why first person???" is so easy to answer.. WHY? Why you think? Because: They want to.
That is it, nothing else matters, this is the only answer for this question:)
why cant there be something different for a change?
btw not every TR game was the same, or even camera view.
