In the videos the level didnt look interesting at all and item names seemed very similar to items used in NotD, the monsters looked the same and even the audio sounded similarly low-budget, and theres no info at all on how the missions work for comparrison.
So where is the reason to pay money for what is otherwise a knock-off of an essentially free game?
Honestly it doesnt look any better than NotD2 on the SC2 Arcade.
So its $25 for a near 1:1 copy of something free?
Why would anyone pay $25 or even $15 to play NotD when NotD is free? Zero logic.
To me, this game's like an open world Alien Swarm. I think the game itself could still use some polishing, but the basics are pretty fun.
Don't know where you're getting the prices you're quoting from, the game's selling at around USD7 a copy right now on sale.
If anything, I'm jealous because I'm a Kickstarter backer who paid more xD
+.5
I can't judge that.
That's exactly what I was thinking. An improved Alien Swarm. He's still right though NotD is free. Hope the Dev's show us what's new and improved.
- leadership system that was always total fail in notd
- customization of your marines(from weapons to skills to powerups),
- weapons you can switch
- graphics
- bigger map
It's best if you watch videos, notd(for vets who know) was never focused on action, it was chaotic action that you managed to perfectly control with your aquired knowledge.
I don't know what you like or not :) I know NotD was a game that inspired me to create TRS. All the maps in that "genre" have some nice coop aspect, you can look at as a blessing, or not :)
I think I'am gonna go off for 3h or so, 24h awake and fixing bugs :p
EDIT: Heres the quote its actually here in general disc..

^this. Why buy the same thing when its free through the SC2 Arcade.
the leadership system in the original gave you perks and special abilities IIRC and you could always pick up different weapons in NotD.
As far as customization goes theres no information about it and while this game obviously looks good and im sure can support larger maps... whats the point when they look as barren and lifeless as in the trailers?
Someone needs to take the time and explain the features of the game in detail and how it compares to NotD as being so extremely similar it should be very clear what the differences are and how its improved.
Suffice to say even if there were a legitimate reason to buy this game instead of just downloading the SC2 Arcade for free and playing NotD, its never explained anywhere on steam or the games webpage.

Cheers!
As far as the kickstarter pages info goes as far as I can see it still doesnt show any info to seperate this game from NotD except the price.
See, I understand what the game is because I've played alot of NotD so thats not what I want to know. I want to know what seperates this game from NotD?
Cheers!
