I'm with you, @Cougarific - those were really terrific/terrifying days. :D

I can't get my alien containment to stack. I have multiple MP rooms stacked, but I can't build an alien containment above another one.

Gotta do it from inside the room you want to build it in... so, build a ladder (or just make an external hatch), go inside the empty room, and build the alien containment.

Most I have stacked is 10 tanks, filled them completely. Framerate died. Hope they optimise them down the road as atmo fish tanks can really damage your framerate if you have more than one in a base and fill them.

Have a build suggestion for those that like the tanks and have experience of building bases into the ground/caves etc, build a room under your main one (ie in my case bedroom/office/lab) and put a tank in it so you have a nice glass bottom scenery to the room, remove the ladder once you have filled the tank. On the walls either use grass or take advantage of it being in the ground and add reinforcement.

If anyone wants some base idea, here are two I have done, aquarium tower was my first attempt at a base in the giant tree cove, second two screenshots are from my current playthrough.

I can't build alien containment above or below an existing alien containment. I'm playing stable, not experimental, if that helps. Steps I have taken: Tried to build alien containment above, or below. Remove the existing hatch, and try again. Deconstruct existing, and try again. So far I have done everything but deconstruct the multipurpose rooms. I can build the first one, no problem. Any supplemental ones refuse to place. They snap into place, but won't turn green.

Hmm, odd, can you take a screenshot? There might be something obstructing them I suppose.

Never had a problem building aquariums and having them work on multiple floors with the last couple of stable builds, still working normally on experimental.

Sure. Let me get a few screen shots.

I've found my problem. I have a ghost room in the stack I'm trying to build on. One of those rooms you partially finish, save and quit, and come back to.

Ah ok, I was thinking that would be a likely cause. Those can be a right pain when doing underground bases, accidentally putting down a ghost room where you cannot see or get to it, very frustrating.
Glad you got it sorted.

The second floor is where I'm having the problem. About to deconstruct and clear the problem. The 6 floor structure.
