No Degasi 500m signal
So I've been to the Lifepod 2 (to give you an idea of my progress). I now have 2 separate signals that point to the 250m degasi proposed habitat (both of which eventually turned off without me turning them off), but I never got the 500m habitat signal. This is actually my second time trying to play this as I missed a radio message (didn't trigger for some reason) my first time through. Seems kinda buggy to me.

Anyong else experience this or have a suggestion other than 'start again'?

sometimes the signals bug out and you get 2 of the same, to get the 500 meter beacon you need to find a certain PDA at the 250 metre base, theres about 5 PDA's at the Jellyshroom base you need to pick up a certain one to get the next location.

This happened to me on my latest (of many) playthroughs - I *suspect* it has something to do with not finding every single PDA on the Floating Island and in the Jellyshroom cave. I know where all the PDAs are but I suppose it's possible I saw one but never actually picked it up.

The good news is you don't need the signal to find the base there if you know where to look. Shout if you need help finding it.

I tried to triangulate it off of a you tuber, but just got lost. So... ya, help finding the 500 m base would be great. I know it's in the floaty blue balls area. Thats about it

Many of the “signals” auto turn-off when you get within close proximity. They can be turned back on in beacon manager, but this turning off on their own is normal after you’ve gotten close.

I’m not great at giving directions in the game but: yes it’s near the flaoty blue balls (anchor pods) there should be a few openings in that area (west of the floating island) that lead down deeper into the Deep Grand Reef (DGR). The DGR is where the Degasi base is.

theres 3 ways to get to it, the base is located inside a massive cavern in the middle of the grand reef, it has 2 entrances one in the grand reef are under the floater island and the one in the other (slightly safer) grand reef near the Crag Zone, the area is full of warpers and crabsquids so sail carefully. the other way is if you coming from the Lost River.

Thanks for both your directions. Should help. There are a couple blueprints in there that I really want

The way I do it is:
-Head Soutwest from the lifepod
-Find the border of the Red Grass biome and Creepvine forest, ride that border SW
-At the end of the Red Grass/Creepvine forest "trail", turn left and follow a small ravine south.
-Continue going deeper, hugging the right-hand cliff.
-When the cliff opens up, turn right so now you're heading northwest.
This may help:

sweet. that might work better for my 'lost prone' mind. Thanks.

got it! thanks all

I think it was Paul Torgal's log #2 that was the key to turning on the signal for the 500m base. I have #1 and #3, and #2 talks about the lower base. Somewhere on the island maybe. Any way... got what I needed so... :)

No, it’s really a bug. I had the same problem in 2 of 5 playthroughs.

I thought it was a bug but I checked the beacon manager and it was turned off. It does take some searching to find the pda for it. You might have to go back and search places you have already been to before you find it. I did.

miklkit... I've been down to the 250m habitat 4 or 5 times. Believe me there is nothing there that I forgot or missed. When I didn't get the 500m habitat signal I went back over and over to check. I think Celisar is right. Sometimes it works... sometimes not so much. But it's all good. I have found the 500m base without the signal.
