Peepers with eyes closed

I keep running into these at night, though I don't remember them before

Their eyes never open, while other ones are always open except the occasional blink.

Is this something new?

Have you tried not blinding them with your flashlight?

they do it to evade u at nite it makes them harder to see

I have a theory about this. I was building a tree house next to a big wreck and could not get the moonpool to line up correctly when suddenly it fit perfectly. Cool!
Then I noticed that the wreck had become invisible but all the stuff in it was still visible. Oops!
That was when a peeper with its eyes closed swam by, and it was the first time I have seen this in well over 300 hours of play.
What a coincidence.........

I thought of that, but their eyes are closed regardless of light or no light.
