How do I use seamoth storage module?

Its just stuck in my inventory

Open the panel on the top of the Seamoth and left click on the module to transfer it from your inventory into the Seamoth.

For reasons I do not understand, there are three random locations for the storage locker to spawn on the Seamoth. One is on top, as mentioned above, one is on the left side immediatiely below the upgrade panel and one is one the right side in the same relative position as the left.

Actually, there are 4 locations and instead of left clicking, you can click and drag it where ever you want it.

That storage module, may, depending on play preference become obsolete, no worries, just slap the thing in your PRAWN when you get one. My tools of Seamoth-ification: Depth module, Torpedoe launcher, Sonar, EMP defense.

It isnt random...

When you go to access your upgrade and you look at the panel the two on top are on the roof of your Seamoth while the two on bottom are the ones on the nose. Like Yormina said you can click and drag a module to put it in a specific place. If you just left click the module in your inventory it autofills whatever slot is available.
