As for warpers, the problem here is that they will always be coming back, or more will always spawn to get you.
I am pretty certain that I managed to kill a warper recently in this latest patch (Coffee update) with a double punch with the prawn. I am certain simply because the warper looked like it was doing a death animation when it warped immediately away.
When it comes to Warpers, it is merely a matter of either avoiding them entirely, or doing any sort of damage to them as receiving damage seems to always trigger them warping away from you.
EDIT: I should add that Crabsquids hate light so as long as you don't have any lights on around them then they won't attack you.
Or i'll just try and live with them.
Aside from that, they don't usually hang around in the Deep Grand Reef for too long. I have a base down there currently and they don't bother me.
An interesting trick verified by other players to actually work against a Warper quite well is to put Exterier Growbeds around your base and plant Tiger Plants in them. Warpers don't seem to edisappear after getting hit by a Tiger Plant projectile for some reason.
It is risky and the likelihood that they will spot you before you attempt to ram them is high.
They'll go away after enough grievous hits, but even then they come back eventually. You can gain a reprieve on the order of a few minutes by inflicting repeated, massive damage, but that's all. You can't kill them.
I ought to know. I put 6 Crashfish directly into one's face (4 on one occasion, 2 more when he came back). At no point do they die. Utterly unfair, unbalanced, and in dire need of work.
I "enlisted" the help of a warper I named Jerry. Killing him or finding a way to stop him was a high priority after he tried to attack me and the enemies he hurled at me attacked my cuddlefish. I started looking for him every time he showed up, and I noticed Jerry warped to the same exact spot every time. If I was far enough away, I saw he swam in a pattern in the center of his range before warping off (something like a figure eight or a weird bent circle). Looked it up, and tiger plants attack warpers. I found a really REALLY good way to deter warpers if you're looking to set up a base in warper infested waters.
First, find the warpers that give you the most trouble, probably the ones right outside or very close to your base. Get exterior growbeds, and when your warper is warped away dart in and under his warp spot, set a growbed and plant tiger plants in it. Sure, it won't kill them, but it's just as effective at stopping them from bothering you. The tiger plants will shoot the warper and if you plant the max you can in the growbed, the warper will spawn in, take too much damage for it to stay, and warp out. It doesn't have time to attack, and it can't change it's warp spot. It's SERIOUSLY useful, just be sure you have a reinforced dive suit.
(Also I hit one with my cyclops and it went stiff and fell over before warping, just, staring at me in shock. I couldn't stop laughing.)
Actually - evidently a propulsion gun loaded with floaters is pretty lethal to warpers.
Actually, you can.
