Came back. Big mistake.

Loaded in, stood in Limsa for 5 minutes, realised nothing changed. Still a nightclub full of gremlins in armour and people dressed like they lost a bet. Said I’d check one thing. Didn’t check one thing. Did about 12 and forgot what I logged in for.
Music hit brain gone. Just accepted it. Story’s still doing its thing. You think you don’t care anymore… you do. Annoying.

Combat’s the same trap. Feels easy until it isn’t and suddenly you’re locked in trying not to look like an idiot in front of strangers. And somehow the playerbase still isn’t full of pricks. Don’t know how they pulled that off. Not asking questions.

logged in looking like absolute ♥♥♥♥. Fixed the outfit before anything else. Obviously. Anyway. Thought I left it behind. Didn’t. Just paused it.

Final Fantasy XIV still wins.

10/10. Lost a night instantly.

Just finished the base game of ARR, and honestly, I’ve fallen in love with this world.

I’ve been logging in every day,

I’ve played MMOs for years, but FFXIV feels like I’m actually meant to be here.

I took my time going through the base game and I’ve enjoyed pretty much everything, crafting, dungeons and just enjoying the world. I’ve messed up lots at the start and still do, stood in AOEs more times than I can count, but every time, people were patient and kind.

For the last 96 hours, this game has basically been my social space. I find myself saying “I’ll just log in and do one thing”….. and then suddenly it’s five hours later.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely. It’s an amazing story-driven game and the community care and want to help you.

96 hours in, now playing as a Red Mage, and it still feels like I’ve barely scratched the surface.

They say the game really starts at level 50… I’m level 56 as a Red Mage.

So yeah, here’s to the next 96 hours.
