still no fix for crashes...
The dev's won't acknowledge that the crashes are the fault of their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ work and won't provide reasonable fixes for those who can't play the game anymore. The support is useless as always and spams you with their standart bs like "check for errors", "install your GPU driver new", "install the game on a faster drive" bla bla bla... Steam won't refund our money cuz most of us played for 2+ hours (what happens really quick if you just play) and that just sucks... literally just a big scam at this point...

There is no need to fix it. It's a Bethesda game, and "It just works".

Alternatively, you could realize and accept that the issue is significant and will take time to correct. They are obviously well aware and likely working on it, but they don't owe you, myself, or anyone else personal updates. Patience.

another reason to never buy a game from a "AAAA" studio anymore. it's just sad that steam is supporting that bs.

Actually support has acknowledged some specific crash bugs and said fixes will be available in a future patch.

For example a bug where clicking rapidly on the potion creation button to make lots of potions with the same ingredients can cause a crash. They have suggested a work around of not clicking in rapid succession on this until they can patch it.

Not every crash is the games fault either look at the release note for the last NVIDIA driver if you have a 50xx card all sorts of fixes for graphical corruption and crash bugs in the driver, that implies there could still be more driver issues to fix for those latest generation cards.

Nor is the game very unstable on everyone's PC, it's been very stable on mine. I've had only one crash and that was after I had gone into the NVIDIA APP and told it to force latest DLSS models. It then crashed 5 minutes into my playing the game. I went back to the NVIDIA app and reverted that, played hours more after that with no crashes.

My point is support is right to make suggestions and ask questions to try and get to the bottom of your particular issue and to work out if it's the game or a particular driver or Bios setting on a machine or combination of hardware.

PC games run in an extremely complex hardware and software environment and when they crash it's not always caused by the game itself and in order to try and help get to the bottom of your issue there are things support have to ask you to try and do.

In due course they do intend to produce a patch for at least some crash bugs, when will that be? When it's ready and hopefully well tested.

This counts double for Bethesda. By now this publisher has a track-record when it comes to these things. They also have a track-record in how long it takes them to fix these buggy messes.. and it's not a good one.

maybe but if you change nothing on your system run the game the next day and nothing works anymore it's 100% their fault and spamming people with things they would already have tried before contacting support is not the right way of dealing with the whole situation. corrupted save files, not even a new gamefile works or anything else someone could try on their own... you don't think people will try to fix the game themselfs before contacting support or search on the internet? even if you tell them what you did they just tell you the same thing over and over again... i and many others just don't have the time to deal with that nonsense anymore and just want to play a game that we bought for +60€/$ after we come home from work. they make millions every single year and create games for +20 years. they should know how to properly launch a game without any issues at this point. noone would complain if it's just 2 people doing it that just started making games. but no it's a freaking multimillion dollar companie with more than enough employees that should know how to deal with all of that.

A patch for crashing will probably be first...in the meantime

Do, download the latest Nvidea driver....this has helped my crashing immensely and despite the stuttering for a few minutes, this driver has been far more stable...if you have to reset your shaders look up a guide because, ultimately this driver is by far the best for this game...

Also, close ALL overlays....MSI was causing crashing even tho I had no overclock. It being open with rivatuna caused a couple crashes in an hour and a half of play....

Discord,I had a notification pop up and my framrate immediately dipped by like 70 fps...my framerate with Framgen was 120 in a damn cave, and when I closed it, it returned to 200

Game needs a patch to play nicely with other programs...also other ♥♥♥♥ causes the game to crash I.E. potion creation creating an unplayable experience for some...if one type of crash ain't happening then it's another...the best we can do is whatever it takes to mitigate it for now.

I had constant crashing before taking this all into consideration, but have been playing for about 6 hours as of late without one

they owe us a working game for +60 bucks. if i do my work wrong and the customer isn't happy i don't see a penny till it is done correctly. gamedevs shouldn't be excused from that. its that simple

I've crashed two times today, one when entering a dungeon and the other walking into Skingrad.

you can at least run the game. mine won't even load any save file or a new one all of a sudden. it's like getting a car from a dealership, you drive x amount of miles/km and suddenly it won't start ever again. you call them and they tell you to replace the battery. you've done that or brought it to a mechanic to fix it but they gave it back to you cuz nothing was working. whats your next move? right you wan't your money back from the dealer. only that the dealer here refuses to refund your money and take the car back.

Game crashed one time over 80 hours of playtime for me with AMD setup.

They do owe us a fix, though, as most of us paid for what we thought was a working game.

If they can't fix this within a reasonable time I would even argue that they do infact owe us an update on the situation.
It's coming up on three weeks now and not even an aknowledgement that there even is an issue. That's just bad practice.

like i already said i and many others know that you should try to update drivers, use steams build option to search for errors, reinstall the game, switch drives reset windows to the point where the game worked and so on... you sound just like one of the support employees

Before using alchemy, throw away stolen materials or make sure you don't use them.
I can at least deliberately cause a crash by using stolen materials when crafting a potion.

However, this only appeared today, after 70 hours of play. I've certainly used stolen materials before, but now it seems to be a problem with higher alchemy skills :cozybethesda:

that's about the game simply not working anymore. it has nothing to do with crafting or such things. none of the save files work or a new one. no driver updates, verifying of game files or anything else you could think about
