This is a weird question: How often does your character die?
This game is very similar to the original, and carries many of the same bugs. If you don't die often, the game "backs up" on data and becomes unstable. In the kindest and most friendly of ways, I suggest sending your character off a cliff. For stability's sake. :steamhappy:
Also, if you are running mods, the Unofficial Patch causes a lot of crashing, despite what its author Arthmoor and his team says.

Zero crashes for me, 60+ hours.
Easy to say, it's your system.

I have the same problem today
Game was running completely fine for me until today. Now its crashing constantly. I thought it was perhaps because I went to Shivering Isles but I have no idea.

Despite what others are choosing to ignore (massive stability and performance issues) and claiming they're not having them, you're not alone OP. I've chosen to block this individual who claims reports such as yours are a "minority". They're not. BGS is very aware of these issues, they're being reported all over the internet. If you have specifics, I'd encourage you to share them on Bethesda's Discord.

Try disabling autosave and see if it helps. I seem to recall the original having sporadic issues with CTDs on cell transition related to the autosave.

I haven't died once yet but I am not that far. Just got Martin delivered to the Blades. Just been exploring dungeons and areas first for fast travel and fill the map and been having this issue. Every cell change

Issue resolved itself somehow. Played for several hours today with no issue. I began to think that perhaps they were doing something on the backend and the crashes were being caused by the steam cloud save system.

However, I am seeing people post that their game just started crashing crazy today, so probably some other kind of memory bug or something causing it.

For me, it was definitely being amplified by fast travel and perhaps auto saves. I heard some people say turning off auto save fixed it for them but mine seemed to fix itself.
Still an issue

Today and yesterday my game has been suddenly crashing non-stop. It happened twice since release day but now it just crashed 4 or 5 times the last two days. Have to say I didn't want to believe it, and I'm becoming increasingly dissapointed. Especially when I've been giving this game most of what little free time I have. Might have to put it down for a while, it's starting to become abig waste of time....
