Magicka regen sucks
I Have 100 intelligence/100 willpower & in combat magic isn't effective because the regen is so slow. Meanwhile npc mages spam you with summons & spells nonstop.

Are we not meant to be full casters in the remaster? Have I missed something, why is my regen so crap? Even with enchantments if I had 200 willpower it would still be too slow.


Edit: I ended up downloading a mod that removes the delay after casting. It wasn't a thing in the og game anyways, makes it feel way better.

Spell absorption is your friendly enchants :)
Just make potions restore magicka potions can be stacked giving you insane mana regen.
OP,
a few mods can fix this problem.


#1 like user [robruckus65] mentioned, potions.
plus, with these two (2) mods, potions weight nothing, and you can keep on using potions, no cooldown.

to top it off, you may use the dupe glitch to stack 999+ potions

#2 if you just want faster regen, you can do it like me, get willpower to 500

CCBoost.esp [additional file in "stronger soul gems" mod]

the CCBoost.esp makes constant effect from enchanting stronger, there's +10, +20, +30, +40 and +90, i choose +90, so instead of +10 willpower per gear worn, i get +100 willpower. my willpower is 100, another +400 we get 500, at 500 willpower, your mana refills in a second after the regen delay passed.

which makes helmets invisible, but also glitched as in we can wear many helmets, one of each kind. enchant them all however you want, more magicka! with CCBoost.esp +90, i get +115 max magicka per helmet worn.

if you want to take it further, there's [wear unlimited amulet and rings] mod but that's taking it too far even for me.

you might want this too
Vanilla Spell Effectiveness.esp
so if you wear 5 pieces of heavy armor, your spell effectiveness is 90% instead of 50%

oh, there's also
Ayleid Wells.esp

gives you +5 max magicka per ayleid well that you interact with, once you hit all 35 ayleid wells, the bonus of 170 magicka (34 wells) jumps to 200 magicka, and your magicka regen gets a +1 / s !!!

but that's slow, go with enchanting, get that willpower up to 500, or even more!

play how you like !!!
...or just use alchemy and interact with the mechanics already in the game.

Magica Regen is for weaklings only

Play Atronarch & brew yourself some spellpotions also grab Spelldrinker amulets and roll for Spell absorbtion at oblivion gates.

Example spell would be Fire damage and some weakness for a few seconds.

And then you add 100 willpower on self for 5 seconds or whatever fits your rotation best and it will regen quick.
I use both of these in conjunction with one another and changed the value of the Faster Magicka Regen to 180 in the Notepadd++

This actually made being a spell caster a reasonable exersize. I dont consider it cheating to cast a 25 damage fireball, consistantly, at level 30+ when an Archer build, you can dish out 30+10 with a bow, all day long, without a worry in the world.

It never made sense to me why a mage has inferior damage, and a piss ant amount of "ammo" to boot....

Mages are supposed to be scary... But... you'll be casting the same spell you used in the tutorial for the entirety of the game, because any other spell is a 5 shot, and your done...

lot of these comment either using mod or just using meta build... lol

cant be "RP" anymore, i mean mana regen in this version actually sucks. much better using hand to hand combat while waiting mana regen and do some damage. cant be pure Sorc if you not going to play meta..

already using potion and stone but still it drain so much and eventually worn off and broke
potions. and if you start with the atronach you get disabled magic regen anyway so it is very possible to play with zero regen at all

I always choose the atronach birthsign . Alchemy, 50% spell absorption (plus any spell absorption enchants or spells), ayleid wells, and welkynd stones keep me in mana. No mods needed.
