The people who run nexus are good, the mod wasnt banned for being a stupid mod, it was banned because the creator was banned for breaking tos in the comment section, hence why the mod is allowed on the platform under a different author

Even more ironically is that people are inadvertently choosing a gender, it's just that they hid it be making it the choice of the character background, so when you are picking between the two backgrounds that is how the game assigns your character it's male or female voice. That is also why people get a women's voice even though they did not choose the women's body type. So yeah the gender choice is actually still in the game.
