No discount for owners of the original?
Good chunk of the content is the same so why be so greedy as to not give owners of the original a nice discount?

Because they spent time and money and it's not a charity?

Dude, I've been a fan of the elder scrolls series for over 25 years, I don't care how much it costs, I'd buy it even if it was $500, it's Oblivion! And in such fantastic quality, it's practically free!

I bought Oblivion probably like 5 times in the last 16 years, I would still have bought the Remaster if it was 100 €.

New games are $70. This game is $50. Boom, discount. Possibly more gainful employment might be in order.

Is this the first time with you dealing with Bethesda and Todd? Why release one game full of bugs at full price, when you can release two of the exact same games at full price?

That said, it appears to be working for Bethesda and other companies like EA with all these remakes at full price. As long as gamers clamor for it, they'll continue to reap the rewards.

Oblivion is almost 20 years old and didn't even launch on Steam. Steam has no way of confirming whether anybody who bought the original release actually owns the game to get a discount.
This remaster being $50 is the discount; everybody gets it.

That's not exactly true. I already own the GOTY version of this on Steam. It's not the original 2006, but there is a way they could look for a discount if you own the GOTY edition.

Just buy the steam key instead of the game on Steam. Always saves some money.

You want a discount? Buy the base game and the deluxe edition upgrade separately. There, I just saved you a penny.

Oblivion really didn't launch on Steam. The GotY version showed up here about three years later. So, anybody who only bought the original, physical release of Oblivion would have no way to get a owners' discount on this remaster. short of buying a second version so they could save some on a third.
Probably better the game is just cheaper than standard so that everybody can save than exclude the people who've owned the game the longest.

See Sony and how they've handled remasters for those who've bought the original. This feels like a cash grab with zero respect for those who've paid for the complete version of the original with all the DLC!!! So what if it was on Steam??? That's just EASIER to verify if it's been previously purchased.

Waiting for the inevitable massive discount 2 years from now when it will be ~$10... since I have enough games to occupy me until then.

But there is a version on steam that could of earned people a discount if they had wanted to. But they didn't. Should of, could of, would of. Either way it is still a good game even if the company is money greedy. I mean they even threw in a higher priced version that could of just been included for free and locked the horse armor behind it of all things.

Sony makes "ZERO CHANGES" remasters.
And... sony games are BAD games, nobody wants them in PC (Helldivers II is a sony IP but no sony studios game)
