I am not enjoying this game much unfortunately
I feel like Oblivion is too clunky, combat is really underwhelming, the world is quite empty, dungeons are so boring and repetitive with the same layouts, the variety of voice actors is super lame, I am tired of hearing the same voices. And I think it doesnt help either how bad the game runs even tho I am on a 4090, the stuttering is really annoying, I hate constant loading screens and how when you transition from one loading screen to the world, your character sorts of falls in the ground and everything loads in front of you. I think this remaster needed more work and improvements

I never played Oblivion before but I played Skyrim hundreds of hours and enjoyed it so much, I really liked the exploration and variety of locations and the combat although it is clunky, feels much better than this game

I guess this game is not for me, such a shame because I was excited for it, sorry for venting here

Don't be sorry. Just focus on the games you like. I see no problem here.
Yeah, I just installed today via Game Pass and feel the same.

Put a lot of time into Skyrim and was looking forward to this but it is really clunky.

Just finished Avowed, and while it has some issues, the combat is so much more engaging. I understand this is a remake and don't expect a 20 year old game to feel modern but this is rough and the performance is lacking for sure (I'm running it on a 9070 XT and 13600k).

I'm going to give it some more time but will likely go to Clair Obscur instead.
Honestly it's old. It has a lot of soul (Edit : contrary to avowed since someone before me post about, which has no soul), but it's definitively not as refined as skyrim was i think.

It's well, old. And it feels also very generic RPG now, compare to back then.

The characters and the quest stories still are great tho.

I share a lot of your issues with this game. But for me I did play the original. Don't have it on steam anymore to check how many hours, but easily over 1000. So for me....and many others to see a game that we loved 20 years ago come out with updated graphics and other improvements it's good.

But at the end of the day this is still the same game with the same issues and problems that the original oblivion had. Some of those problems were easy to justify 20 years ago because of limited technology, and let's face it Bethesda has never released a game that wasn't full of bugs.

I'm really just playing this until the next Elden Ring game comes out in a few weeks.
I understand the chunkiness comment as the game does miss a lot of QoL features of more recent games. Things like hot-key casting, or one press arrow notching.

If you can persevere though the progressing of the story and character aspects do make the game much more engaging. Things like evasion with acrobatics and shield bash with block can make fights hilarious at times.

i was think the same, that it feels so empty
Funny how not everyone likes chocolate. Or vanilla. Or old hotrods... Yeah. Kinda funny how that works.
This is what a remaster is, it's still a game that's 20 years old, I'm not sure what you expected to change.

You definitely need mods to make it enjoyable since the vanilla gameplay has flaws and also optimization problems for the UE5.

I modded this game right after playing a bit of vanilla on the basis that it will perform much worse as your save file piles up.

There's really no need to announce you're not having fun, you can just move on to games you like.

Nobody blames you, if you don't like it it's okay, but you said that you enjoyed Skyrim and that you like it when Oblivion is a better game in almost every way and more fun, this is strange, ask for a refund if possible and next time (when FO3 Remastered comes out) wait and watch gameplays before buying, with Oblivion I found exactly what I expected, a great game updated to today.
