Windows 10 - No Audio Other Than Cinematics
After updating to Windows 10, I have no audio whatsoever other than the opening cinematic and the Red Hook logo screen upon startup. Razor Kraken 7.1 USB Chroma headset with latest manufacturer drivers.

Also, the current sample rate for the headset is 2 channel 16 bit 48000 Hz and I still have no audio. Tried verifying the game cache as well with no success.

Make sure your drivers are all up to date. I had a similar issue after installing Windows 10 and updating my audio drivers fixed everything.

Thank you for the suggestion, but it doesn't seam to work for me. I tried redownloading and reinstalling the drivers from the manufacturer's website with no success.

My initial post was phrased incorrectly. To clarify, the only audio I get is during any cinematics. This includes the opening cinematic and the cinematic that plays when starting a new game. Other than that, I have no audio at all.

i got the same problem, when I enter the game,it can only sound flat noise, but no any other sound. (windows10)

Same problem for me. Though I doesn't matter whether I use a headset or not - no audio at all. (Other games, music, system sounds are fine.)

Edit: Just when I post here I actually manage to solve my problem. Why didn't I think about that earlier.... Windows 7 Compability Mode did the trick - actually an obvious solution. Works quite often for problems like that after all.

I appreciate the suggestion, but sadly compatibility mode did not work for me. I set Darkest.exe in the DarkestDungeon -> _windows folder to run in both Windows 7 and Windows 8 compatibility, but still no audio outside of cinematics.

I was able to resolve the issue. I disabled Compatibilty Mode and I set the Darkest.exe application to run as an administrator. I get two security prompts now whenever I run the application, but I do have audio again.
