You can improve their weapon and armor at the blacksmith, and you can improve their skills at the guild. If you want to level up their resolve, you have to go through other non-boss missions.

ya i was doing the non boss missions but they stopped showing up

Non-boss missions should never disappear entirely. You've checked the other dungeons as well, right? The Weald and the Warrens? If they're all lacking non-boss missions, go into one of them and get as much loot as you safely can, then abandon the mission. That'll advance the week and give you another chance at non-boss missions and you'll get some gold/heirlooms for your trouble.

Also, just in case you've not encountered this yet, resolve 3 characters won't go on apprentice missions (presumably resolve 5 characters won't go on veteran missions either). The highest level units you can field against the Apprentice Necromancer are resolve 2, so take care not to overlevel anyone you want to use for that.

Just for the Ruins or for the Weald and Warrens too?
I suggest paying a visit to the guild, blacksmith, and survivalist and upgrading things on the four characters you are going to use.

Crusaders generally have a damage bonus against Unholy enemies on their skills. I think Vestals do as well, at least on some of them. Skeletons/zombies generally won't bleed, but you can blight them just fine. You can mouse over the enemies to see their exact resistances. I think the Necromancer himself can be bled on account of not being a zombie, though.

Edit: Resistances subtract from your chance of infliction, so a 100% bleed resist can be overcome with +bleed chance trinkets.

Skeletons can be blighted, so try having a plague doctor in your party.

i plan on using 2 crusaders, 1 vestal, and 1 plague doctor, does that sound good for the apprentice necromancer fight?
Chameleon_Silk Feb 10, 2015 @ 7:48pm
yea since the 2 crusaders can AoE, I dont think plague doctor is to useful in this case but maybe on the way to the necro he will be useful.
Platoon Feb 10, 2015 @ 7:49pm
I killed him with 1 Hellion, 2 Bounty Hunters and 1 Vestal. Just mark him for death and keep nuking him with the Bounty Hunters, kill the skellies with your other heroes.

im using the plague doctor to poison the eneimes although now i use a grave digger since they can poison people and can still melee enemies.
