A: looking for it and are prepared for it. (still hard but you'll have a good group with trinkets)
B: feeling brave (you will regret it . Trust me)
The Red Orb does bad things!
Speak not of The Red Orb, or put a torch in it & let us know how it goes!
Actually, to activate it that is what you do...its just a question of whether that's something you want to do and I think we're generally not trying to spoil things here.
As straight an answer as I can give without giving too much away is to heed the warnings that if you do put a torch in it, be sure you are prepared for a very difficult fight. Only attempt it if your party is relatively sane and made up of characters that you do not mind losing. A strong party that can be buffed against Insanity and outfitted with the most helpful trinket balance is also recommneded.
It's a bit of a no win situation here. People come to the forum and complain that they put the torch in and get wrecked, and people call them stupid for doing that.
Then a guy sees one and doesn't just blindly throw a torch in, and actually asks what it's about.. and someone implies they are stupid.
I guess people are always stupid.
