What goes where?

I love the combat and practically every aspect of this game, but I get very annoyed with the curio system as I never get it right as to what to put in them! Is it just me, what do other people think? Thanks in advance

Just you. Because other people know how to find spoiler for those curio from guides or wikia from internet.

For what it's worth, if you've used an item with a particular curio in the past, you can see generally what's going to happen if you use it again while you're picking an item to use - it'll have a symbol of some sort indicating what's going to happen (like the stress clear circle if it'll remove stress, or gold coins if it'll result in loot), or an X if nothing is going happen.

But yeah, you can also look it up online (for instance, at https://darkestdungeon.fandom.com/wiki/Curio ) if you don't want to waste resources trying to figure out what goes where.

There's also Darkest Companion, which even gives you some base layouts for what kind of provisions to pick for each of the original 4 dungeon types.

Curios have no gameplay, and do have a lot of moon logic. That is, unless you really enjoy the time and expense of rubbing everything on everything.

In short use scrolls, coral, chests, and stuff you can get for free or at least without spending another inventory slot.
Even if you do know the payouts it's not worth it aside from these.
