Anybody know what the symbols below xp bar (next to LV) mean?

the symbols are changing everyone in a while. im playing as claptrap if that matters

Its the symbol for what class mod you have equipped. When you switch to a different class so does your symbol.

*chuckle* ... just checked in-game, and yes, badass rank. Never paid attention to that one before. Funny how you can play games forever and not notice little things.

But now the question would be -
What each symbol means.

And how do we get them.

And IMO, it's not entirely tied to Badass rank I believe.
I originally had 2 fists.
Without putting any badass token into melee, a few fights later, I noticed my symbol jumped from 2 fists to 3 fists.

Maybe it's more about how much total BA rank you have, rather than what you're putting them into?

It's not tokens spent it's Badass RANK.

Yea, Badass Rank only 'level up' when you complete challenges.

The few fights I had did not complete / finish any challenges.
All I did was consecutively killed lots of enemy using melee attack.

Which led to 2 fists > 3 fists.
