How do YOU beat EOS?
EOS is one of, if not the hardest boss in Borderlands: The Pre Sequel. As such, players often either develop their own strategy for the boss through trial and error, or google an optimal way of dealing with the boss. While I am sure there are quite a few players that fall into the latter, I take the belief that there are still a number of players that are of the former.
So I ask: How do YOU beat EOS? What worked, and what didn't? And what made you choose to fight that way?

i play athena.
normal playthrough was very hard because i went with a melee damage build (which was useless for obvious reasons). After a few (many) tries i raged and gave up. I would also like to note that at this point I didn't even reach EOS only eclipse. Went back and leveled a bit. Then I changes my build to defence and health/shield regen. Eventually I tried again. Started to learn his moves by the sounds. My basic method was:
>run,run,run
>shoot only when I am far enough away
>when my health gets low and i panic I pop the athena shield and regain a lot of shield and health because of her abilities.
>Always know where the next platform is i am jumping to.
>keep shooting the floating health thingies.
>ignore the mobs incase i go into ffyl
>Always choose lava burn over his attacks.
Finally beat eclipse. Felt very proud. Then EOS showed up. I haven't raged that much at developers in a while. But my strategy worked fine for him too. Beat him on the first try.

Both eclipse and EOS was cake in the true vault hunter mode because i kept my build and obviously knew their moves. This fight takes long, but if you just play everything safe it's not too bad.

I didn't use any guides though.

I had pretty much two experiences so far. First was with my subroutine based Clap Trap, solo.
I hadn't done the holodome first, which may have been a misake seeing I may have had one or 2 level less than I should at the time I fought him.

And I got pretty much demolished thoroughly. The missile barrage in particular is pretty horrible, and was pretty much what was preventing me from surviving. After looking online I learned about the large cylinders with a jump pad under them. The cylinders are a 360° protection for as long as you are bouncing inside of them, but it's not exactly foolproof as far as protection go. Crouching near the wall at the base of them gave me more protection, and it was pretty much what allowed me to kill it in terms of defense. I also was kinda forced to switch to a shield with elemental resistance and extra life. As far as offense went, I was pretty much saved by a glitched shock sniper rifle which shot really fast and did quite a lot of damage. That thing was instrumental in allowing me to get the huge bullet sponge shield it has.

Second time was with Aurelia, I was forced to go solo after Steam went down and left me without my friend. My Aurelia was sadly mostly axed on a Mistress/Valet build, but strangely I had less trouble dealing with EOS, thanks to her action skill and general skills. This time I found a somewhat better hiding spot which is just under/behind one of the two ramps mid section of the zone. EOS camped one of the side, so the ramp provided a nice defense against any barrage and a bridge far away was just in front of its cannons, allowing me to slowly bring him down. My friend was back for the second phase, and it went a lot better.

Especially seeing we used a cheese one Steam user showed on the forum which is to use MINAC laser and shoot the boss through the transition. MINAC laser for some reason does tremendous damage and can shoot through said transition. I don't exactly know the reason but I'm curious to know it.

My friend ended up falling in the arena after a "shake" effect, but at that time, despite the fact EOS regenerate its shield two times by disappearing, his health was low enough the issue left no doubt. Especially with the Mistress/Valet build which is pretty potent. He was playing as Athena and tanking pretty well seeing he was regaining 50% of his shields and healing every time I killed something, regenerating health naturally from one skill and my mod and of course using his shield. On my side, I was doing a lot of damage on every ennemy set up by him including the boss.

This boss isn't fair because the arena is horribly designed. If there were more good covers, it would be different, but there aren't. It reminded me of the Mecha T-rex in Torgue Campaign of Carnage. For multiple reason, first because Shadow Trap has Piston's voice actor(seriously casting guys, what were you thinking?!). Second because it's the same concept, huge ennemy with horrible missile barrage ability that can destroy you in seconds and can soak up damage like crazy. I remember the mecha T-rex was beaten by cheesing the hell out of it and getting out of the arena behind the small barricade and shooting from here, going to purchase ammo when you ran out of everything. I clearly remember doing that in TVHM and we had to go purchase full load of ammo at least 3 times... It's that stupid.

If it's not fair, cheese the heck out of it.

Shoot it in the eye and break laser's line of sight.

Love you gus + boomtrap Clappy. Take down shield with electric laser (prob maliwan), then build up Maniacal laughter with corrosive damage and stay the hell alive.

Second phase: Same thing but use weapons with high crit dmg when eye opens

Pop vaulthunter.exe often. Gun wizard is generally best, refills ammo.

Killbot (heal a lot on kill, your shield takes dmg) and Maniacal laughter (Build up stacks by doing elem effect damage (the dots). The more you have the more you regen. Absolute maximum is like 30% per second at really low health with a ton of stacks) are MVP.

yo i'm gonna keep this simple and say as wilhelm i throw out saint and wolf anytime i can saint is so helpful with shield/health regen and (maybe not shield) but i use a laser gun because he has that staff spin move that deflects bullets but not lasers (haha). I also have a Wiskey Tango Foxtrot shield, with those boosters its sooooo helpful but i mainly run and hit him when i see the opertunity. I also pay no attention to the other guardians he spawns in its really just a distraction.

You do not beat EOS, EOS beats you until you die, in real life as well.
