Paradox "memory leak" issue

I've had a problem with HoI3 for years, on multiple W7 machines (some 32-bit, some 64).

The game will run fine for a time, but then, as the game progresses, the window graphics will start glitching; buttons will disappear, the window background will become transparent, glitchy animation will make text "wiggle" or disappear, etc.

Closing out the game and restarting will fix the issue temporarily, but it always comes back, sooner and sooner, until I finally have to reboot in order to play at all. Even then, once the game has gotten through the first few years, it won't last very long until it starts glitching again.

It looks, on the whole, like a memory leak of some sort. It started either with the vanilla install or after SF came out, I no longer recall which, but none of the latest DLCs (I'm current through TFH) have ever fixed the problem. I also tried the Vicky2:AHD demo a few weeks ago, and it produced the same issue *very* early into the game.

I have seen references to Paradox using 2GB RAM under W7, but I'm not sure if that's the case here, or how to find out for sure, or (most importantly! :) how to fix the problem.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

i got the same thing tried to piss about twith the graphics setting but no luck

resigning to change nations can cause this problem as can using cheats to change faction in game do you do either of these things

Actually the basic HOI3 exec is not able to adress more than 2G of RAM. It needs to be compiled with a flag to be allowed to adress more memory.

You don't need to DL a modded exe to make something large address aware, just use http://www.ntcore.com/4gb_patch.php or similar.
hoi3_game.exe and/or hoi3_tfh.exe
