Airport Cargo Terminal not working?
I'm almost certain that I'm doing *something* wrong here; I have a large airport that is operating pretty much ok (minus the annoying police/garbage icon constantly popping up which I know is a bug)

However, on one side of the airport I have a cargo terminal connected to airport roads and the rails connected to my cities rail system, but the trains *never* go to the terminal and thus it goes unused. Is there something I'm supposed to do to get the terminal to work?

Assuming your airport is working well: I would start by checking the rail track and try to find a missed connection.

Yup, checked the rail lines and everything; even went and rebuilt the cargo area just to make sure. No active cargo flights have been coming in, no trains going in; all of my cargo trains ignore the rail line leading to the airport and go straight to the cargo hub.

Could having a cargo airport in another part of the city be causing this possibly?

From what I've heard, only one of the tracks works for external trains and it's random. Same goes for all stations, like passenger ones will randomly pick one available track when you build it and that track is the only one inner-city trains are allowed to go to, so if you don't have it hooked up to that one it just won't use it. I've had a similar issue with the Airports cargo station but haven't got around to messing with it yet.

Huh, I did notice that when using the traffic viewer that *sometimes* a train line does appear for the cargo terminal but then vanishes. So I'm messing around with it to, I've hooked up both tracks to see if makes a difference.

Is your cargo airport from the workshop or the DLC? Was not aware of a cargo airport terminal capable of both Airport Roads & rail connections. Snapshot Please?

What are you talking about? What cargo airport terminal has more than one train trak?

For the missing planes, I had the same issue. I used this mod for adding a flying path directly to the airport. After running the game some time, cargo planes finally landed.

Airports DLC has a double track cargo train station. It also has a bug where a truck spawn point is misplaced on one side, which causes that side to not work. I believe you can fix this with the Building Spawn Points mod, though an official fix should be coming soon as well.

Ok it appears you are trying to use the Airports DLC cargo terminal that from all I can tell has NEVER worked correctly and from all indications will Never work correctly. Suggest you replace with one of the workshop cargo airports.

Why am I *NOT* surprised that it doesn't work, ok I'll see if I can find a working one on the workshop, thanks for the suggestion :)

Of course, don't suppose you have any recommendations? Given how crowded the workshop is :(

I suspect you may have become accustom to CS pumping out untested and non-functioning products. But that's just a guess.

This is incorrect information. There is a bug, but it doesn’t prevent the cargo airport from working. It is likely that simply connecting the tracks to the other half of the station would fix the problem entirely.

Use this mod to adjust the spawning point for trucks, if connecting to the second track doesn’t work.

My bad. Apparently, I was wrong, according to db48x, the cargo airport that you were trying to use IS working correctly. Please feel free to disregard my previous suggestion about using workshop.
