How to save an intersection?
My intersections tend to be rather complicated.. Does anyone know how to save one?

You can create one in the Editor section of the main menu under Asset Editor, if you need to reuse one over again.

There are thousands of intersections and interchanges on the workshop.

Ok, cool.
I just wasn't sure how to use the editor.. I tried to and ended up saving a single road piece I'd accedentally edited, and now don't know how to delete.

Try YouTube. they should have tons of tutorials on the subject. I've only built one for an achievement. Otherwise I just use whatever's in the game.

In case you already use mods... and carefully read mod descriptions...

The Move It mod provides you a marquee tool with which you can select the parts you want to copy from an existing intersection on your map and then paste it to the new target place on you map.

If you want to reuse an intersection from your City A in your City B the you can also use Move It mod’s export and import function.

If there are intersections you've already created and want to turn them in to assets you should be able to do that, too. The mod 'Move It!' has an export/import feature. So you should be able to export from the gamesave and import into the asset editor.

I keep forgetting about this tool. I might have to sub it and use it a little more, I keep hearing of new ways to use this SUPER mod. It seems to do everything but wash my dishes. lol

Well, now I'm just going to have to perma-sub it. lol And learning it much better. The exporting stuff sounds very promising for me.

I think you cursed me this same way with Ploppable RICO. I had to run some tests on it and it is awesome! But after a while of using it, I realized it is a game in-and-of-itself. It is awesome when needed, but so much micro to use it on large scale.

You're going to push me into the double digits. I am going to have to designate one of my PCs for mod only system now. lol

I hate you! lol

I have only used it once, grabbing roads from a map, doing some work and then putting all the roads back again. The thing I found was that I couldn't then just use the modify ('!') road type to change the raised roads. It was fine with roads at ground level, but not for bridges or the slopes up/down. Something must have happened in the translation when putting the roads back as I found when I deleted the raised road it would leave the pillar behind. And it was this pillar that was preventing me doing the upgrade on the raised roads. So I had to delete the pillars as a seperate action and then rebuild the bridges from scratch !!

Still a good mod though !!

Oooops... I did not mean to proselytize you into mod usage. But I am happy to read you found something useful for your city building. :-)

Speaking of pillars, there's a glitch to build a pillarless, infinitely long bridge in a straight line without mods.

Build a max length (12 units) bridge in a single segment, then build a road underneath it. Extend the bridge by a small amount (3 units). The game will redraw the two bridge segments to be equal length, but because of the road underneath, it doesnt draw the pillar. Extend the ground road, and repeat as necessary, but add a 6 unit segment to the bridge. Alternate between adding 6 unit and 3 unit lengths.

Obviously, you can't put junctions or upgrade it once built as it will attempt to add a pillar, but it still has its uses. Since it works with any node and segment based system, you can use it to build an elevated railway above a road for example. Or just use it to get that one pillar to move just a few feet to the side :P
