I have a large barn and small silo and 5/5 3/3 are in use.
Meanwhile of the actual CROP fields in general only 1 out of 2 trucks are in use. I have no idea why. Why not use the 2nd one to deliver to the Flour mills?
In general half the production seems to be import which is completely ridicilous with the absolute overflow of crops that are available both stored directly in the crop field storage and that barn....
the problem i have is if i throw down 2-3 more barns and set it to balanced wont they try to IMPORT to get more? Or should i set em all to empty till they are at 50% full?
On top of the info above, if you fancy using mods, here are few you could use:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2303997489 - to limit deliveries to specific areas, make your supply chain more specific
and
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1806759255 - to change amount of hehicles and employees for example (among other things)
Before you get these mods - check if your outside connections actually work properly (or any other road as for that matter) - sometimes, quite randomly, trucks and other vehicles start stopping at one of the nodes, sometimes it's just one of the road lanes... restarting game helps usually.

To reduce the pressure on your storage you can switch off half of the fields till the situation calmed down ( more trucks in town again ) . They keep their workforces and start producing again immediately when you switch them on if you go short in raw materials .
Its still mostly import for my 2 flour mills. I built 2 more barns and 3 more silos.
I got 2 medium and 3 small fields i think... Still not enough storage?
All players would need really is be able to set priorities for industry buildings
(never import. import when below. export when above and most importantly prioritize supplying flour mills or whatever else before any export happens)
So apparently trucks never FETCH any goods. They only bring em to the next destination.
thats why those flour mills are sitting there with 2 empty trucks that could just pick up crops sigh...
This is the mod I use .. i suggest reading the instructions and stuff.

And I have enough for example grain siloes set to balanced in addition to the ones I set to fill to feed factories or process like flour mill.
Lots of ways to do it, but this works for me.
I got silos now with 160/300 balanced. No trucks in use. Why arent they delivering as they should to the Flour Mills? It still says 80-20 import or so? it makes no sense...
So i expanded to have cattle sheds and a bakery plus warehouse for flour and animal products.
What happens to the finished pastries. It just says manufacturing costs / output. Is this just pure profit. Does nothing get exported? Or does it get delivered in town?
You can see what routes the trucks leaving the storage takes. Im guessing most will export or supply commercial.
Unique factory products are either exported or sold locally I think. Im tired sorry. I suggest using a small or medium warehouse set to empty so your finished unique product doesnt fill up the factory. The delivery trucks go globally otherwise. And the internal storage fills up shutting down production. You get the lovely 'Not enough byers' symbol
Overproducing or not... It literally said 0/3 freight trucks in use with 160/300 and balanced so why arent they delivering to the flour mills (or my new cattle sheds) its just mind boggling to me.
The mod sounds like it might fix some of the issues also with one clinic on the other side of the city sending out ambulances, an issue i also encountered. I will try it...
hmm it says 'check user guide for detail' where is the user guide for this mod??
There is an english version there.
I use the Warehouse first option.
