Thanks for posting here in Discussions. :smileyflag:

You can save as many games as you like. Are you saying when you try to save a third game you get an error?

Please provide as much detail as possible.

lf you use the in game auto save function l would suggest to stop that and start saving manually with a name + a rolling number to create as many saves you want

@BucketBrain -- Your suggestion (except for not using auto-save) seems to be the standard.

I don't like so many saves to go through, so the way I do mine is with auto-save every 30 mins and I keep two game saves. My naming convention is:

"City Name - Map Name"
"City Name - Map Name - Bkp"

So my save list looks like:

AutoSave
Whiteash - Lake Otha
Whiteash - Lake Otha - Bkp

I play using "Whiteash - Lake Otha" and I do manually save while playing, but when I'm done for the day, I save both versions (regular and bkp) before quitting.

I guess everyone has their own way of doing it.

Name each iteration of a city as:

City 1
City 2
City 3
etc.

If you start another city:

New City 1
New City 2
New City 3
etc.

You need to manually save and not use the auto-save function. Also, I find it pfreferable to save it to my PC and not to the cloud. I have about 16 cities with different iterations of each, one is up to 14 now.

@Visvarens: use the games save menue, rename the save, it will create a new file and keep the old one.

I also disabled the autosaves, they caused crashes when I was useing a certain mod at that moment.
hiting esc multiple times gets me out of all my mods and opens the menue so I can save.

I also don't like running numbers on my saves, I use named milestones and "akut"... and "akut2" which is just an identical backup of "akut"
akut = acute, urgent, pressing in german

Yes , various ways to reach rome
l had some bad experiences using autosave on my old system and switched to quicksaves and manual save - cityname 1-9 soon . As l stick to a city for a while l have to delete all the quicksaves from time to time and hold back some special saves to pick them up again for testing stuff later on .

@WhiteKnight77 Alright thanks

I also recommend the CityName + number naming. If you have a lot of saves in the savegame folder, it can be good to move them out and store them elsewhere as backups. I would suggest keeping them though and always saving as a new file. That keeps your city safe in case you're unlucky and the file gets corrupted, which can happen.
